Recently I upgraded to a full sized PC Tower.

I elected to buy a cheap pci to usb card with a internal port and permanently mount my USB Block Eruptor.

It may not make much, but it is there forever(or until it wears out)(or I otherwise NEED that pci slot) to help the network.

I have a clear side panel and lights in my case I should do that with a couple just for fun.
How many internal ports does that one have?  I couple I saw on NewEgg had 2 to 4 internal.

The one in the picture only has one internal port.

Depending on your motherboard you will have internal usb 2(9 pins) and/or usb 3(20 pins)
You can possibly convert a free internal usb connection into internal usb slots.

You can convert the 9 pin to 20 pin(you will only get usb 2.0 speeds which won't negatively effect block eruptors) then use 20 pin to usb internal slots. I was unable to find 9 pin usb to internal usb adapters.

EDIT: After some more searching, I found this which can easily be used for internal usb.

I will have to root around the vendors I was at recently tomorrow.  I saw some internal USB adapters that allow you to plug in external devices directly to the MB.  They were cheap and had two configurations.
This could be fun.

We have no way to know what value BTC will have in the future, it is very possible these block eruptors will make us wealthy.
They mine only a little value each day now, what might that little value be worth in 10 or 20 years?

You are quite right.  Plus supporting the network pays in more ways than just getting BTC.  It allows us all to send and receive it as well.

It's a nice extra boost in income for systems already running.

My new case has enough airflow to be closed.
The 200mm intake fan blows onto the eruptor.

The problem with cpu/gpu mining is the added power consumption, and lack of usability.
Your ability to use your computer is limited greatly when cpu/gpu miners are at work.
Also a cpu/gpu running at full load uses significantly more power and generates significantly more heat.

As for CPU mining it depends on how you setup your software.
I use YAM for MemoryCoin.  On my quad-core I set it to 3 threads instead of 4 for mining which leaves the computer running great for everything else yet gets me a good output for my mining.

Good to know, any idea what caused them to cease?
There is bound to be some bad items in any production run.
Even name brand products ship some defective items.

It's not that they "cease".  It's that they start creating a whole load of hardware errors instead of acceptable shares.

I've had problems with my Blue Fury going offline and not coming back until I press the reset, so I figured this seems like a fun solution (my main pc is shut down every night so I can just launch a batch file on boot to open bfgminer)

Those are cool.
I would not know how to set them up to do anything though or I would buy some when I had money.
I will have to keep an eye out for different setups as these are neat.
