Andrew Bitcoiner of BitJack21.com won this auction. Here's the auction for next week:

This section randomly rotates between 6 messages, so you won't see it there all the time.

I'm surprised the bids are so low for this type of advertising. This forum has a huge amount of traffic and I don't know about others, but that "News:" section is generally the first place I look when I come to these forums. Very good way to keep updated, and generally there is good info in those links.

Are there anymore limitations besides what was originally posted? For example, can a user rent the ad space and link to a thread on this forum? I'm assuming so, but might as well ask before bidding.

Help Bitcoins by buying clothes, technology, books, etc. through people/stores that accept BTC. This will increase overall value of BTC as well as mitigate unnecessary bank transaction fees.

That'd be fine.

You can also advertise referral links.

Last round went for 50 btc which is $250 for a week.  That is pretty good for even a busy forum.

In order to collect more money for the creation of good forum software, ...

Also, if you sold the ad space for a fixed fee I'd totally pay for it but this auction stuff is ridiculous and unprofessional and anyone with a real world business that has a real world budget will be forced out of participation. If you must stick with an auction format, might I recommend a certain number of slots and allow bidding as a lot auction?

I agree, can I just get a flat fee so I can start advertising tomorrow?

We should also be given some more demographics on the forum, does this forum use Google Analytics?

I'll gladly pay a month up front, if I can get a discount as well.
