Can anything be sold for btc? Do people buy things like tools and stuff on these forums for coins? I am moving soon and would love to sell some stuff instead of storing it. Not sure if it would sell though. Seems like most of the stuff for sale is digital.

No harm in listing what you have. Nothing to lose if it doesn't sell, plenty of people around here would probably get a kick out of buying something substantial. If nobody bites, have a garage sale or put it up on Craigslist.

What is the safest way to buy things on this forum. Send half payment before receipt and half after? What do people expect? What is smart?

That depends on the user you're buying from, people who've sold many thing before without major incident something like sending half, or even the full payment is fine for smaller goods, for larger things escrow is advised in any case

How does btc escrow work? Are there well enough known entities out there that are trusted enough to be an escrow service?

There are several services btcrow comes to mind as the one i've read about most recently however trusting any of them is up to the user

People are selling all kinds of things at the marketplace. You should be able to sell most things. Research prices and watch out for scams.

That's a very long list is there any specific class of goods you're interested in so I can direct you to a reputable merchant?

There's a lot of trust involved with BTC, and I wish some sort of Amazon-eBay website existed for BTC to fix it. Unfortunately, there isn't, but you can still sell and buy pretty much anything. This is the marketplace on this forum. You can't post until you're a Jr. Member, but you can apply to be whitelisted.

Do you guys know of any real-life stores that accept Bitcoin?
I know there is a restaurant or two in NYC, but I haven't heard of much else.

To my knowledge that's the extent of it although possibly out of date you can consult this map https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Real_world_shops

meh I've seen this map before but I don't think that's everything... I know there's more than that because there are a few more places in NYC that sell food for Bitcoins....unless they stopped.

I can't seem to find if those are netburst based xeons or not but i'm sure someone would be more than happy to buy something like that if you were to list it in the goods section
