Everyone have read the story half that India has formed a legal board to look on the gambling and sports betting to be cashless with virtual currency (bitcoins and other crypto currency) So it clearly means that they are making crypto currency legal in the form of gambling and sports betting and not in other aspects

https://inc42.com/buzz/cryptocurrency-this-week-law-commission-of-india-favours-gambling-in-bitcoin-and-more/

https://news.bitcoin.com/indian-government-crypto-means-of-payment/

It is just a legal Board formation directed by the supreme court of the Indian country.

It is pertinent to note that, this committee has been formed under the watchful eyes of their Highest Court i.e. The Supreme Court of India. The atmosphere in the Asian country has changed drastically, from being sceptical towards the usage of crypto currency, it seems they're keen on taking a more open minded approach which could have a major effect on the prices, as Indians love gambling and are cricket loving people, the stats speak for themselves with high amount of bets being placed during popular cricket tournaments i.e. IPL. This is a welcome move by the Asian country and could lead to more gambling sites tailoring for India.

Yes,India is one of the most populated country of the world where we have more people related to gambling as well so from legalizing the crypto gambling in that country they can make lot of revenue early like you said IPL where more money involving every year through illegal gambling.

In India they raise all these moral objections to new innovations at first.  Ultimately, what makes money for the country will win. That's one thing I've always noticed.  I have a strong relationship with that country.

The government is just looking to collect more revenue.  You see this in a lot of places with legalization of marijuana, they really don't care about citizen's rights.   Governments love to get their hands on any source of money flowing through their country, that's why they hate the black market.

Its also about unifying the country and allowing business to take place under common ground.   If the common law is to have no income taxes then so be it but if regulation is uneven and favours criminal powers and influence then nobody is benefitting from what could be higher employment distributed evenly by the most competitive and efficient industry.  If the bias is crime and violence then of course gambling becomes viewed negatively

Quote
unregulated and underground. Government is loosing millions of tax revenue

Its a pointless ban, this business is also lost abroad also.   India is changing a number of bad points like this recently to unify the country, it could be a great turn around for one of the largest and potentially most powerful nations on earth.   Good for everyone really if they put their house in order Smiley

India is famous in sport betting and players manipulations. There are bookies that are activated in different areas and they contact with players and this game becomes so strong. Even sometimes officials from national cricket boards are on this plate too. They all compounded to make this happen. So India is already suffering from this disease.

Wow it’s nice that they are supporting and legalising it. I’m up for the employment increase in their land and I know that there are a lot of people that need jobs and basically it’s a great opportunity.

Whenever I think of gambling, here in asia, is Macau. And it has become an attraction and bring more people which is good for the country too. Great move. Overall I think it’s a good move legalising it and hopefully there are acts with addiction too.

Yes! There were few incidents that surfaced earlier and few known Indian players got suspended for life! There are bookies who tries to manipulate the game to make millions from out desired outcome, however, it's wrong to over generalize things. Not all games are fixed and not all players are bought! Loopholes are there in the system and there are people who are getting benefited from it.

The main agenda of the government is to get tax income from the betting industry. Till now government was not getting benefited because betting is illegal in India. So the struggle is now to get along with the tide instead of swimming against it. That makes both party happy!

Yes, everything is happening underground. People are losing and making money even government has banned gambling so now they want to minimize illegal gambling so they are planning to legalize gambling at the same time government also can make money.

Cryptocurrency gambling is not within the scope itself because government has already informed that cryptos will not be considered as a legal tender in India. But I think Indian government is taking one step at a time. Cryptos will have to be legalized eventually just to cope up with the other countries.

The Indian government is always very slow to implement new technologies. Their telecom industry also very slow, they are just rolling out 4G.

Now crypto trading completely stopped in India except people to people. I don't think they will legalize crypto so soon.

Yes, it definitely make both parties happy but the Indian law commision government don't sign into bill crypto currency gambling all because of tax money, they accepted it because they are in love the potentials of block chain and bitcoin networks and this is why they spent so much time studying it so the could understand very how it both works. However, the cryptocurrency regulations which was postponed will determine the future of crypto currency there though.

I've always been in support of people having more freedom and being able to do what they want.  Why should the government be able to decide what we can do with our lives.  Most people are responsible and can gamble just fine without any negative effects.

I think yes that can be the only reason which attract the Indian Government to think about making online gambling  legal. But still I think that it may not be so much easy to legalize online gambling.

India legalized the living to together recently and the next day they approved for gambling site usage too. If you want ot invest on the gambling site all the website can be accessed with the Indian IP address.
Last year US government traced and washed out the many gambling site as like that India also panned something for the citizens safety of using our of gambling.

You can check the above comments where it is clearly given details about Indian government thinking of legalizing sports gambling and mostly they are thinking of making crypto payment system legal for gambling.

Yes! Ongoing issues are there that needs to be addressed but that doesn't mean that other developmental activities will be stopped. Things can certainly move simultaneously.

The report is indeed true and the law commission indeed proposed to legalize gambling. But they did not sat anything specifically about crypto gambling.

Such a bad form of government it is if they aren’t catering the rights of humans against the profit they are earning from this gambling thing. Although this gambling might enter some good aspects in their economical facts but that sent good for anyone who is gambling. These people are killing their lives in here and are living a miserable life. Why these politicians don’t care about us?

It will go crypto anyways, why would people bet Rupee's online when they don't even use banks or online banking? Cash is king over there and crypto is picking up because it can't be taken by the banks that go under in India.

Even USA legal sports betting...players are already complaining how bad the betting lines are in New Jersey...that means smart bettors go to offshore unlicensed sites that offer better odds for players... it will be the same in India for sure.

I become far from clear the policy of India, if they legalize it all. After all, the country itself is an ancient culture, and so will be a lot of gambling and debauchery. Maybe I missed something.  Roll Eyes
To me I think that it is depending on their religion, if gambling is legal in their religion then their government will also make it legal, but if it is not legal in their religion then people will do protect against their decision for legalizing gambling.
