In my opinion MEW is one of the safest wallets. Probably the attackers got your private key through the HOLA VPN application a few days ago.

Any transaction will be made should begin from an anonymous browser.
That's the best way to avoid some browser add-ons that intentionally steal information. (Hola VPN for example).
