There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Interesting. He also has a post on the lending thread asking for .02! Now you know I had to call his ass out on that one!

Holy hell! What happened?

We exchanged like 10 emails prior to trade and I sent him 0.2 BTC via Skrill and suddenly all communication (that was lightning fast before the incident) stopped.

Also, he was cheeky enough to ask private key of my receiving Bitcoin address so he can complete the transaction.

I can survive loss of 100 bucks but what bothers me the most is that whatever I touch in this Bitcoin community turns out to be a scam.
It's one rats infested nest.

The only applicable scene for this scenario that comes to mind is from "Pulp fiction" when Jules hands the money to incompetent thief at a diner and Vincent Vega (John Travolta) says: "If you give this f.k our money I'll shot him on general principle."

I would gladly invest much more money for some lone wolf to eradicate such scum like p2pchange.com.
