Finally, things are starting to move and MtGox will possibly re-enable BTC withdrawals soon! https://www.mtgox.com/img/pdf/20140215-BTC-transfers.pdfPeople having fiat there will make a shitload of money when withdrawals will be re-enabled and price will skyrocket. Since we are talking about Gox, it still needs to be confirmed, of course. |

yep this is just the kind of news we need to really get the engine roaring. If mtgox can trade at above average prices once again, it can only do good for the total value of btc.

If they re-open withdrawals (I agree that's a big If), I think they are solvent. There will an inevitable bank run when it happens, and if they are not solvent, we would see it immediately anyway.

It's not the same priority level. Fixing withdrawals is the most urgent thing an exchange might have to do. Failing to do so will inevitably lead to its collapse. |

So at 15:15 UTC - 10:15 EST the BTC deposits will work again. But withdrawals will take at least till Monday.. Once the implementation is complete customers will again be able to deposit bitcoin, but we will be doing extensive testing before bitcoin withdrawals are reactivated. We will publish an update on the situation on Monday. |

To be fair LTC shouldn't have any priority at all. Also fiat withdrawals are most likely legal issues that you cannot resolve in a few days. This specific problem is a technically issue and just requires them to work/test hard on it. I personally do think they will fix it. I am just not sure if it will take "only" 2 more days or 2 weeks. Also obviously they did fuck up in the first place and they probably could have fixed it quicker. |
