Its looking less and less like it will be possible to get an Antminer for 1.45 BTC. I've checked around the net, but I know a lot of users here build their own custom ASICs. What miners are currently selling and have the potential to make an ROI? Or is this just a legend.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

at this point,  you must admit you are mining for a hobby,  to secure the network,  profiting at this stage from mining is becoming more of a pipe dream....

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

I don't even think 2-3TH/s mining hardware will make any ROI by the time it ships. It's all about supply and demand, the demand is always there except in most, if not all cases, the supply (aka delivery timeline) is never met. Even KNC are having delivery setbacks. Forget about anything coming from ButterflyLabs either because whatever they advertise for pre-orders should be considered as vaporware since you will never get to see it on time. Anything readily available to the market at the current time will pretty much not make any significant ROI at the current network difficulty or will take a long time to hit ROI.

Consumer mining will be phased out soon in the future as difficulty climbs. At a certain point, the household electric supply will be the bottleneck for all mining hardware. To make any significant returns, people will need to switch/expand to a corporate mining structure. Meaning; renting a office or warehouse that can supply the power needed to run an ASIC farm. Truthfully, the only people/groups I see making ROI on mining hardware are those companies that are mining with customer hardware as a "burn-in test" or w/e they want to call it. I still cant believe the top 2 miners on Eligius Pool has over 800TH/s EACH.

If the S2 already been engineered, they first sell there old inventory and keep the new stuff for them self. Bitmain ships beside new miners also used miners.
