The templates are located on "C:\Program Files (x86)\BitTab\template" directory.

You can start from duplicate "default" or "default-double" folder, and edit the source-code inside.

Yes, Rainmeter. It's a neat app with a powerful feature of skin customization.
It can also be the a good way, though, the usage could be different.

I think that the major differences are..

• BitTab collects values from each exchange where the user want to know specifically. It is important for some users that cryptocurrency values are different according to exchanges although the coin is the same.
• It sticks to the taskbar or top corner of screen to display information without making overlay on the other programs
• It is dedicated for the cryptocurrency ticker that contains world-wide exchanges and more than 500 different coins.

By the way, taskbar icon is shown when you use 'Box Widget (sticky note type widget)'. It's because you can easily pick your widget up whenever you want.
If you only use 'Bar widget' then no icon will be shown.

There are two things that we can clearly explain about it.

1. The warning you saw is related to  "d24057f9965dcf819c4c8e55b461f1231e8a6916f3fc081c6dcae646a5f624f5" which is the installer's.
As mentioned, this installer and inside files were scanned by VirusTotal with 71 world-wide anti-viruses and resulted clean. Plus, the whole files have been inspected by Avast Whitelist program and declared harmless.
The files inside are encapsulated and compressed by InnoSetup ( http://www.jrsoftware.org/isinfo.php ) solution (which is very widely used) and this solution generates temporary file like "BitTabSetup2.1b.2.tmp" but unfortunately, most 'small developments' installers are easy targets for showing alert to users even though they are not malwares. That's because most anti-viruses do not trust unknown files in the first place and it's easier to show users 'dangerous' rather than 'we don't know'. Usually, those anti-viruses first suspect by 'heuristic algorithm' and require user's agreement for running programs. They may prefer showing false-positive alarm than showing "actually we don't know".

2. TaskKill.exe is not a suspicious file but rather official and default native file in Microsoft Windows.

We explained in detail and we understand your concern. Unlike apps in Appstore or Google Play, there is no way to distribute Windows Software in that manner. (Windows7 does not have Windows Store so that we cannot publish BitTab as Windows10 Store app)

Thank you for the post but I am still have concerns if you look at the report the mitre score is through the roof and it's showing hooking into other parts of the system.
The avast whitelist program is useless any script kid with $50 can buy a full encrypted virus that won't be detected by avast and by 99.5% of the AV's on virustotal.

Can you further explain the following information as you did not post the source code to your application in the crypto space being open is key and hybrid-analysis is very rarely wrong.

Thank you for your sincere concern. As you know, the file is 'packed' by installer and compressed with LZMA algorithm. It is 'self extracting' file that generates '.tmp' temporary file for essential procedure as a InnoSetup solution. We do not know how to interpret [Code:] and it seems to be very simplified.
Our answer is following:


Before explanation,
* BitTab's 'bar' and 'box' widgets are 'Internet Explorer Browser' based which means while running BitTab.exe, interactions with Internet Explorer and related process and dlls are required and it's not a suspicious at all.
* BitTab uses, of course, Windows APIs for detecting monitor size to dock the bar, for making the app 'run at start' by modifying registry(it's really a common thing.), for generating shortcut links, for detecting time zone and language of OS, for updating exchanges info from the internet(downloading), for checking whether it is a latest version(accessing internet), for making a Window semi-transparent or topmost, for disabling clicking sound of innate Internet Explorer by using native DLLs and so on..
* your mention "hybrid-analysis is very rarely wrong." seems to need reference because there are official and well-known softwares (but not corporation scale ) which reported to be Suspicious, meaning false-positive also seems prevalent.

=> It also responsible for 8/10 score. We think it is due to 'heuristic scanning' feature which means Anti-virus did NOT clearly analyze the file but rather 'suspect' it because of 'taskkill' or something like that maybe..
unfortunately, we could not track which anti-virus engine reported it as a virus. If we would know, we will send report to them for 'precise scrutinization' and we do expect a positive answer.

Also, if that 'W32.Neshta.D' is detected in only single engine while other anti-viruses didn't, it can also be interpreted as false-positive for that one engine. That engine went wrong or other tens of engines were failed to detect an already reported threat. Which one would you think is more convincible and possible explanation?

Ever since I updated your app to version 6.20, the laptop fans spin endlessly like crazy whenever I run the app. I don't know what version I had before the update, but it certainly wasn't as resource intensive as v6.20

Now you may ask why I haven't updated yet to v6.21, the other issue is the app kept telling me that the latest version was v6.20 as soon as I downloaded and installed v6.20, restarted the app, now I started seeing a new version v6.21

Why is this so? Why not just make someone install the actual latest version? How sure am I that is Install v6.21, the app won't tell to that there is a newer version of v6.22 which is available?

I'm not sure if that's how they are numbering the different releases for the PRO version, but for the free versions, it starts with a 2 ^{[v2.61 > v2.51 > v2.41]}... I just tried the latest version ^[v2.61] and I can also confirm the higher fan spins ^{[especially at the beginning (it uses around 30% of my 5-year-old GPU, in a form of interrupted spikes)]}.

I guess you can always rely on the version that's available on their "download page".

I actually made a mistake. You are right, My current version is at 2.60. I am amazed at how I wrote different values without even noticing I had made an error

My CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 5800 and GPU is Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070.

Very few apps make my fans spin endlessly at a high speed, especially the gaming apps. Normal apps are just fine apart from bittab version 2.60 as i noticed recently

Same here... Considering that a lot has been added to the app in question, it's probably just poorly optimized but having said that, it also feels like it has a cryptojacker in it ^{[to a small extent (I'm not trying to accuse OP of anything but personally, I don't have issues with free apps that have such things as long as they explicitly mention it in multiple places and only use a small percentage of my resources while I'm using their app]}.

From v2.60, BitTab uses Edge WebView2 engine ( https://developer.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/webview2/ ) rather than the legacy Internet Explorer engine.
It is based on the Chromium engine. That's the major change from 2.5x to 2.6x.

We are uncertain why the fans speed up. Actually, it was the first time reported.

Could you please reinstall the app to see if it solves the problem?
or
Can you test with a new portfolio including any single crypto like BTC/USDT?

The installer file and main app, of course, do not contain any 'miner' things at all.

I believe that's the culprit and based on some of the issues & fixes ^{[e.g. this one]} on Google, it usually affects the CPU and memory, but for some reason, it's affecting my GPU instead.

I will try out different tests just to be sure. I will provide an update once I am done.

I actually have the pro version. Will the Licence Key still work if I install the current app and reinstall it?

1. Do you use any cloud storage services like OneDrive? If so, it may cause the problem for some users. You may 'change' the preference folder to somewhere else.
