[2018-07-17] Counter Strike game remastered in Bitcoin mode

Today (2018-07-17) the most common game Counter Strike is released within Bitcoin Mode,

the game with original gameplay, paying it's players little bitcoins when killing enemies.
game mainly has 2 options, Single player which is free to play, and Multi-player requires purchase.

This is a field where I think LN will shine. I have been seeing a massive influx of games lately where people can earn small numbers of satoshis while playing, but they can't do anything with them because they need a far larger amount in order to withdraw. If you don't have the main net to worry about, you can send $0.001 payments instantly to anyone after a kill for example, and that thousands of times per second.

I wouldn't even be surprised if the big boys in the game industry will do the same to incentivize people to play and earn, where more often than not people will spend their earnings to buy in-game items, so mostly everything will flow back in the pockets of the game creators again.

These little developments make me happy.

You downloaded it without paying? It probably means that you're playing in the free mode.

To be able to earn you have to buy the game. I wonder how long it takes to earn back the money spent on this purchase. Also, the graphics are awful. Much worse than most android games. What version of CS is this based on? 1.3? I remember playing it back in the day on my trusty celeron 333 and 64MB ram

I don't think that it's that simple, rewarding gamers with real money has some caveats, it can attract bots, it can attract farmers, the model needs to have some clear way to achieve profitability. Sure, giving away satoshis can attract many players, but most likely those will be players from poor countries that won't put their own money into the game, and people who would actually buy comstics or some features wouldn't spend their times grinding for satoshis. Bitcoin casinos are a good example of it, they have relatively generous faucets, but make withdrawal limits high enough to prevent abuse.

As a gamer, I think Lightning's biggest potential in this industry is true micro-purchases, i.e. in-game items that cost less than a few dollars, player-to-player payments (especially with smart contracts), and simplification of payments for game owners - instead of dealing with banks and regulations in many countries they have one global currency.

You downloaded it without paying? It probably means that you're playing in the free mode.

It hasn't being mentioned that you wont able to earn on single player.It just being elaborated that you would need to pay up for multiplayer which means you can able to kill lots of opponents compared to single ones which you would really think up on purchasing the game because of that earning chance but basing on the payouts which can be seen here https://counter-strike.cc/payouts.php i dont see it would really be worth of our time. Not only on small amounts being given but also the graphics isnt that too good.

Is that the main developer of counter strike or its just a modded one? I have read one comment on the other thread said he's playing for 2 days and no balance added.

This is bringing back some very good memories, because this was one of my most favourite games. I have to agree with #1Referee on the Lightning Network angle, because it will be great if someone could develop a LN plugin for a wider variety of games to use the micro payment features of the Lightning Network.

Old games will get a second life if they monetize these games with a LN plugin.    I would love playing StarCraft Brood wars with a LN plugin that enables micro payment for wins. <If bots and cheats can be eliminated>

OK. what is the catch here? You buy the game and lets say you get 1 satoshi per kill. Back in the day was quite good at it so if it is a popular server it wont be problem to make 2000 satoshi a day.
Then comes the problems, I remember that even with all the AntiCheat systems UCP, VAC etc. there always someone cheating so basically it's impossible to make it cheat-free.
You join with your friends and let them kill you for couple of hours then you kill them for couple of hours and.. there you go farming..

bots for these games. The Chinese & Japanese gamers will "farm" these servers to death and there will be almost no money

left for the legitimate gamers. I also played some TEXT based MMORPG games before, where these Chinese players dominated

the scene so much, that I stopped playing.

bots for these games. The Chinese & Japanese gamers will "farm" these servers to death and there will be almost no money

left for the legitimate gamers. I also played some TEXT based MMORPG games before, where these Chinese players dominated

the scene so much, that I stopped playing. 

That's why old 1.6 servers employed active anti-cheats that you had to run with the game to be able to enter. I remember that one of them was called cheating death and they had to put up a new version every couple weeks because cheaters were constantly outsmarting it and making new undetectable aimbots.
As for the Chinese they managed to monopolize every game where it was possible to trade and make money , like WoW, Diablo 3, and so on.

I want to try the game, not because of the rewards but Im a Counter-Strike enthusiast back in my younger days. Want to challenge some although screenshots provided are really crappy.

Unfortunately, my download doesn't goes through because it was detected as a virus so basically a failed one. Even I turned off my AV, weird still it was tagged as virus. It's a hassle if I will uninstall my AV and turned off my Windows Defender. I will try another way to download it.

That can't be avoided especially for a low budget game like this.

Too much for compressing just for the flexibility of the game.

Nah, even this would be a simple game i cant risk out to uninstall my AV and how much more on turning off my windows defender because once a certain app do give me warning or prompts then i do automatically
ignore to download it and i dont even see it would be worth of to take the risk out for you curiosity.lol

Windows Defender is crap, get a good commercial Anti virus program like Kaspersky or McAfee and you will have less problems. I had Windows Defender on some computers at work and it flagged false positives every day.  We installed Kaspersky and the machines was faster and some other issues were also resolved.

If you want to eliminate any problems, just "Sandbox" the game or run it in a virtual pc.

Thanks for the recommendation. I have no idea that Kaspersky that has that effect, though this is quite off topic. My other PC has ESET but I stayed with WD. Waiting for harizen's feed back.
