You can install latex on Ubuntu to convert pdf to text or other formats.
Then you can edit that and convert it back to pdf.

I am certain there are programs that edit pdfs for Windows as well.

Few month ago i tried a few programs for editing pdf, some free, some with a free trial, they were all working almost ok in all cases but they were never comparable with the editor provided by Adobe, the work it's just faster and more convinient, so i just bought an annual licence of acrobat pro dc, which allow editing of the text in the images as well.

You can also try with word and then export to pdf, but takes a lot of time to reconstruct the template, not woth imo, but in the end depend what kind of result you want to get and how much time you want to spend to get it.

Good luck.

Source forge has a program called PDF Architect.  It's ok, but not as powerful or convenient as Adobe, but much cheaper.

Editing PDFs is always painful. The formatting sucks, replacing images is almost impossible without destroying the format, ...
I would recommend you to transform your PDF into a Word document, edit it there and save the Word file as PDF. I am sure you are way faster and its wqy more frictionless ...

I would probably also suggest this method if you don't have the full version of the Adobe Acrobat. With the Acrobat it's okay to edit text and images - you are able to edit almost everything it just takes time.

I use adobe Acrobat Pro for years and it works very good. I usually make pdfs from word documents and with Acrobat you can edit the pdf files directly, no need to convert anything. You also get the Adobe virtual printer that's very useful. I really don't think that you need anything else, after all they invented the pdf.

Yes! I found an awesome PDF editor while doing a bounty translation campaign. It's free and online, so no cost or download.

Really easy to use. Has limited capabilities, but allowed me to do everything I needed to get the job done.

I think you cant edit PDF file, usually i just convert it to ms.word then edit it from ms.word. if you want your file to PDF again, you can save it to PDF from ms.word.

I use online pdf editor to work with text: https://www.sejda.com/pdf-editor

This one is good. I'd also recommend https://www.pdf2go.com/edit-pdf which is pretty simply to use and helped me many times.

if you want to do it offline, jus follow these steps

  • Open a file in Acrobat.
  • Click on the Edit PDF tool in the right pane.
  • Click the text or image you wish to edit. Acrobat shows you the tools you’ll need.
  • Add or edit text on the page. Lines and paragraphs reflow automatically, or you can click and drag to resize elements.
  • Add, replace, move, or resize images on the page using selections from the Objects list.
  • Click on the Link, Headers and Footers, Watermark, or Background tool to edit your PDF further.

but if u want to do it online, u can try https://www.pdfescape.com/
