Welcome! Don't invest in Bitcoin mining, just buy Bitcoins directly. It's the safest bet for sure.

I agree, just take the money you would spend on mining equipment and buy BTC directly.
Take a look at NXT, no high powered ASIC mining required, only efficient low power forging.
