Hey Community,

At the end of last year, I was very much involved with mining. For example, Bitcoin was again profitable for a short period of time. That was because the Bitcoin price has steadily increased with the Difficulty. At the moment I'm wondering how the cloud mining companies can keep themselves afloat, with the same electricity costs as last year and the increasing difficulties.

What are your favourite Altcoins for mining with a positive future?
Or has everyone change to stake Altcoins?

If you were involved in mining, I'm sure you know the answer. I'm still letting my rigs running and still getting profit. Every miner may have a different answer about this, it will depend on each miner's condition especially electricity cost. I'm not sure what Cloud Mining do with this current condition.

I have the same question as you.  Cheesy

Or has everyone change to stake Altcoins?

I don't know what the other people were doing, maybe yes, some of them move to POS coins, but I'm not doing that.

Why not? Did you ever calculated it?

Keep in mind you are asking about staking POS coins in the mining subforum.  The speculation subforum would be a better question about profitability of staking and masternodes, as whether its profitable or not is pure speculation.  As for the question about how cloud mining companies keep themselves afloat:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Ponzi

Mining is still profitable but now it has very long recoupment. If the prices of Bitcoin and altcoins remain the same then your farms will be repaid in 1-1.5 years.

this depends on how your strategy, mining is still profit, but not much.
Maybe your capital return about 15-20 month for GPU mining

I remember about this, maybe this is Puwaha's post effects, am I right?  Cheesy

Which one?
My first and last cloud mining are cex.io (on 2014 I think)
Cloud Mining will be still operable as long as they have a renter. As far as I know, nowadays most of Cloud Mining (I don't know how much Cloud Mining that exist nowadays) would apply contract systems for a specified period and of course, its rent price has adjusted for giving them operational cost plus profit. So, if you were sawing any cloud mining still live, it means they still have a renter.

A bit hard to answer (it was secret)  Smiley

Or has everyone change to stake Altcoins?

Not everyone, some of them still believe in PoW and the rest maybe tried PoS coins.

Edit

A few days ago I was doing solo mining (YOC. ups.. but now I've been moving to another coin) and solving some of the blocks (doing this for one day only). Then I sell those coin at the "top":

How lucky am I
But, this is not about some "Luck." These are about how you were doing mining in every condition that you faced. Then I can say for sure that mining still profitable.

Mining still profitable?!

Some very simple, basic answers for your questions you can read the full topic HERE

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY NEWBIES KEEP ASKING THE SAME QUESTION " ITS TO LATE TO START MINING , IT IS STILL PROFITABLE ? WHY MY EARNING IS LESS THAN ALL THOSE ONLINE CALCULATORS TELLING ME? WHAT IS THE BEST COIN TO MINE ? WHAT IS THE MOST PROFITABLE COIN TO MINE"

No one can tell you !
Always going to be a 2 group of ppl who telling you it's ok go for it , or dont bc you just wasting ur money and time !
You have to make a decision for yourself !
Do your own research !
No one can tell you for sure what's going to happen with cryptocurrency !
No one can tell you it's going to be profitable for you or not !
No one can tell you how much profit you going to be able to make ! ( if you can make any at all )
No one can tell you the ROI ( return of investment) time !
No one can tell you what is the best coin to mine !
No one can tell you what is the most profitable coin to mine! Coins profitability always changing, what is best to mine today, maybe going to be the worst to mine tomorrow !
None of those calculators you are seeing on the web can tell you what's coming tomorrow , months later or 6 months later !
Those calculators telling you about today , at that moment when you typing in your information !
None of those online calculators calculating pool luck !
None of those online calculators calculating your stale/rejected or invalid shares !
None of those online calculators able to predict difficulty growth !
None of those online calculators can predict what would be the coin/$ exchanges rates a minutes later, a hour later,  tomorrow, next week,  months later, 6 months later or a year later !
It's little bit of gambling , you must to decide you want to play on the lottery or not  Grin
YES some of us got lucky , made some money with mining
YES some of us got unlucky , lost some money , bc when price started to fall , sold they coins , miners...

! INVEST ONLY WHAT YOU'RE WILLING AND ABLE TO LOSE !
! INVEST WITH THE UNDERSTANDING , THAT YOU COULD LOSE EVERYTHING !
