Please take a look at the following subforum called "Scam Accusation":

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

I thought I was smart enough to recognize when someone was scamming. Well, to make long story short, I was recently victimized for 1.1 BTC. I am starting to think that no one is immune to a smart scammer.

So, please check the Scam Accusations subforum, BEFORE you send your hard earned BTC to anyone.

I hope the mods make this a sticky. Until then I will keep bumping this thread.

i lost 1.1 to that avalon as well but here is my problem. when i first started with bitcoin in october i put some cash in with dyslexic zombie and i made money ppl are trying to call them a scam. I also put money on bter and cryptsy and made cash and both of those are called a scam. Basically everything is called a scam on here even the things that work so its hard to believe ppl when they say a real scam is a scam. But i should have seen through that avalon idiot and i kind of did but my greed got the best of me.

If you "kind of did" see through AvalonShenzhen, why did you send him any bitcoins? Your greed got the best of you?

You proved the need to have this thread as a sticky here on the subforum of GroupBuys. Everyone's greedy to some degree. No one is immune to it, unless you are Jesus or Buddha. By asking people to look at the Scam Accusations subforum, we are doing them a favor, no?

But I fear there's no one here who actually want to help. They'd rather point fingers at victims and say "I told you so!"

What is the problem with making this thread a sticky right here right now?

How do you create a Self-Moderated post here? I know it's not automatic, because when I created the original post, I didn't see any option to make it Self-Moderated. How does a newbie or a junior member know to create it? Do they have to contact someone at btctalk to create it?

Anyone can create self moderated threads and you can find that option in the bottom of page. ( Click on - Additional Options...)
