Problem

In the WHO’s 2017 report [1], assessing progress on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals,
 lack of empirical data is cited as one of the major obstacles to formulating the
necessary policy to “ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.”

One of the greatest challenges facing healthcare today is that of interoperability.
It is certainly THE biggest barrier to change.

We do not wish to say there has been no effort to introduce interoperability into healthcare.

Colossal efforts have been made.

Data exchange standards have been developed by non-profit organizations
spearheaded by Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE).

These open standards have existed for more than a decade,
and have been considerably road-tested for both national
and international communities.

Solution

Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) methodology

IHE methodology rests on a proven set of data exchange standards,
used for decades as the foundation for successful collaborative frameworks in the healthcare industry.
The data exchange in Grapevine World (Grapevine Backbone) is based on these established principles.

The core is Integration Profiles.

The IHE has a defined set of standards covering Actors, Transactions, and Content.
Profiles are built by selecting the appropriate combination of standards to fulfill the
necessary function, packaging content in an agreed-upon format.

By maintaining adherence to these standards, a “common language” [3]) is established,
enabling different parts of a system - or different systems - to speak to each other.
The Grapevine World ecosystem will ensure interoperability by comprising only
IHE approved vendors, applications, and architectures.

Blockchain

This company has over 350 years of collective software
development and healthcare experience.

As a part of their business,
they have created hundreds of systems
used by hospitals all around the globe.

We have explored the problem and the solution above,
but in this section, we elaborate on why
blockchain needs to be used to make this a reality.

Blockchain technology assures the smooth and uncomplicated
release of data by the patient and also handles billing details.

Helping them achieve more than they are capable on their own,
preventing some of the issues in current structures that causes
up to 300,000 deaths to occur due to lack of medical data.

With Grapevine as a facilitator, participants of Grapevine World
will be able to enter into smart contracts with each other, and
leverage this automated, decentralized system.

In specific terms the blockchain is used to fulfill two significant roles:
1. Act as a facilitating infrastructure for the data exchange network.
2. Provide an incentive to participate in the network.

Patients gain access to a wider, borderless choice of healthcare,
they are able to tap into a globalized expert network for consultation and care.

It is up to patients to choose if they want to share their data, but if they give consent to participate in a particular research project, they are rewarded with the Grapevine Tokens. (GVINE).

They can use the GVINE tokens to exchange for products and services with participating companies.
We are taking the responsibility of attracting companies and healthcare providers
and provide them with a logical way to accept the token in
exchange for apps, gadgets, medical advice, and care.

FarmaTrust deals with counterfeit drugs on the market and in the supply chain.

We use blockchain technology to assure the smooth and uncomplicated release of data by the patient, also to handle billing details, and to improve global healthcare interoperability.

Even though we are in the same field, we address different issues.

In the unfortunate case that we will not reach the softcap there will be no extension. We are currently working on securing some potentially larger tickets. We're confident that will push us to achieve our soft cap.
