I was discussing no merit spammers with Jet Cash earlier today, and he made an interesting suggestion. Why not double the posting restriction interval for every 100 posts made by a spammer with no merits? I thought this was a good idea, and it could have two results. Spammers may stop and think before making rubbish posts, if they will reduce their ability to post. It could also introduce an element of self-moderation, and spammers may delete old posts to reduce their unmerited post count. This second point could affect their bounty payments, so again, they may be encouraged to make higher quality posts.

I was discussing no merit spammers [...] again, they may be encouraged to make higher quality posts.
Your basic assumption that those spammers are even able to make quality posts is most likely wrong.
A lot of the spam obviously comes from people who don't really speak English at a level that would allow them to make a meaningful, educated post about any complex topic whatsoever.

Yeah, well, I'm gonna go build my own blockchain. With blackjack and hookers! In fact forget the blockchain.

But the problem here is most of the forum members assume that longer posts means high quality posts so if we are forcing them to make the high quality posts menas they will simply create the posts and replies with 500 characters which makes the condition more worse.

And also we need to take into consideration that not all the good quality posts will get merit for sure so first we need to make that system perfect before forcing the people to get merits.

Reducing the number of posts would make it easier to find good posts to reward with merits. Perhaps Jet Cash should be looking at page 5 on the beginers board, rather the the latest index with all the spam bumps.

The fact that I am seeing more members with a high activity but still in the lower ranks then that means they are not motivated enough by the merit system. If this system still not motivate them then I don't know how else can they rank up from their current rank and improve the quality of their posts.
The only thing I could see as an advantage to the restriction your discussing is that more members will probably quit the forum because of those rules that prevents them from spamming and earning here.

Nice suggestions but here are some limitations to think about :

1) Some members are here not for merits. They might be on this forum for some specific purpose like selling services. Why increase trouble for them ?

2) Coding such a thing. Is it even possible ?

3) Finally, there are bots being used for spam. With these restrictions, they have to change the time interval in the bot and continue. Any solution for that ?
