How many times have you came in a store and asked whether or not they accept bitcoin when you wanted to pay?

Should we do that EACH time we visit ANY store?
Would we create a huge advertisement for BTC that way?

Would stores start accepting it when they encounter a couple of people on a weekly basis asking them if they accept bitcoin?

Should we start doing this? o.o
Should we create a community so hard core that asks for everything they pay if it could be handled in BTC?

Looking for a signature campaign.

Not necessary.

It's fine if people asked a request for a first time but it will be annoying if it will be done lots of times. Let them received lots of demands by different persons. Let the process flows automatically and see if stores will consider accepting crypto in the future.

Even they will received lots of requests about accepting bitcoin in their stores, still it will goes thru a process of brainstorming if that is a must thing to be implemented.

Trust the Process.

I didn't mean you should go in the same store a dozen times and ask them each time if they accept BTC, I just meant the first time Cheesy

my country bans crypto, but government decisions are not firm, so we can still use bitcoin for crypto trade. but, the problem is not that.

how the store will accept crypto, while the government bans it, and even many people still do not know about bitcoin.

so, the community's job is not to force, but to spread the benefits of bitcoin to the public.

No. It's just not ready to go that far. Nonetheless how much we would like it to be, it's just not even near there.

I've read literary like hour ago that MasterCard is step forward with crypto and embracing it bit by bit and when those big companies get a grip of it we (crypto enthusiasts) are on the safe side further on. Smiley

only if you REALLY want to spend your bitcoins. otherwise if you just want them to accept bitcoin and then you continue to hold/trade your bitcoin then don't bother the stores. because there is no point for them to go through the trouble of setting up a system to accept bitcoin and then nobody spends their coins or does it once or twice and then no more.

but if you really want to spend your coins then why not. the shops have to see the demand for it first then start accepting it.

if the store is an online store, maybe I'll ask it, but if it's a physical store, I'm afraid to ask it
I still doubt, about the size of people who use bitcoin as a means of payment

If we do this and it succeeds on a large scale, it is harmful to the Bitcoin network, thousands of transactions will take place in the second and therefore higher fees.
Higher fees ----> Panic in the markets ----> Little returns from using bitcoin "I can’t pay 3$ fee to buy a coffee" -----> Price Crash.
My answer is no; Bitcoin is now more suitable for international transactions and not for daily use.
If technical changes occur, the situation will change

It has been known that bitcoin around the world I think today is still big enough to raise bitcoin right now and there are many ways to use bitcoin today but my online shop only knows that the bitcoin acceptable.

I have asked once to a store branch. I know the store accept BTC because I have once bought to them using bitcoin. After some time I travel to a nearby city where I saw the same store in the city and so I expect them to also accept BTC but they aren't. I reasoned why and told them that a store branch is accepting BTC, they should also do it. The guy standing behind the cashier stall just shrug his shoulder and does nothing but accept my cash.

I have seen some people in my country accepts bitcoin as payment but most of these stores are very small and they have limited customers. I doubt people here in my country would even say they have bitcoins because government is raiding houses all the holder of bitcoins and make them pay taxes.
It's good to create a community if your government regulated bitcoins and it will surely benefit not only bitcoins but the entire crypto currency.

Im tol shy with this kind of offering but for the first time i made asked a store in a mall if they are accepting bitcoin because there comes a time that my credit card was on my mother to use for something and i forgot this until im on the cashier to pay.and luckily one of the cashier knows about crypto and offered me to send her the bitcoin and she will cover the cash ,but i never do that again since that day lol

I like your story buddy. And apparently, you are truly lucky in your situation. But while reading your comment, I was really hoping that the Bitcoin payment method will implement to the different stores, since as the days goes by, the Bitcoin users is really increasing in numbers.

I take this one step further. If I asked them and they said no, then I spring into action and start giving advice on how to accept Bitcoin and to debunk all the myths that surround it. I basically do not accept no for a answer, because there is no negative side for them in doing this, other than a little time to train their staff. <I even avail myself to train the staff for free, if it comes down to that, because it only takes +/- 30 minutes>

Go the extra mile and you get another merchant where you can spend your bitcoins.

<...>

Agree with this statement, I've heard DougPolk (famous crypto youtuber) talked about how some poker website accepted bitcoin payment after a lot of people asked about it.
And then, it turns out no one paid with bitcoin.
I think it's better to use bitcoin in the p2p transaction, for paying friends or family overseas.
As for the merchant, we need more bitcoin-based company and bitcoin Jesus.

I think they will be informing their customers is they will be accepting Bitcoin or other crypto currencies in their store. That will be a good idea to one of my country's city but I don't think it will be that popular.

In my country, a lot of Bitcoin scams and frauds are happening and I think that brought a damage to some people that are maybe, trying to go or invest their money into crypto currencies. Since there are a popular exchange of Bitcoin in our country that can send BTC or PHP without a fee, that will erase the problem to the fee but the problem lies within the people who will be using it.

I think it will depend of country of where you belong because here in our country if the establishment will accept Bitcoin as payment then there is a Bitcoin logo posted in the door saying that they are accepting Bitcoin as payment just like VISA and Master Card in which it was posted everywhere. Maybe Bitcoin is not really popular in your country in which majority of the establishments are just accepting fiat and credit cards only

That is actually that I can do every day as it doesn't take much effort and by this way bitcoin will also be advertised and they will also think that bitcoin is having a real life use so even they wouldn't be accepting then also they would take accepting bitcoin into consideration. So by this way every member could contribute in the large acceptance of bitcoin and when the store start accepting bitcoin then they would also stick bitcoin accepted here posters outside their store and that will also be seen by many other stores.

How many times have you came in a store and asked whether or not they accept bitcoin when you wanted to pay?

I have asked multiple online stores/services to accept bitcoin. for example I have sent messages to Steam support back in 2015 and asked them to accept bitcoin. I would like to believe that all these requests from users like me made them accept bitcoin eventually (sadly they stopped last year due to high fees).
the same thing can be done with any other merchant out there. we need to show them there is demand but at the same time not to spam them!
