Hi readers,

Two days ago I have been scammed a message lured me to sent btc's to be rewarded with btc's. Is there a way to undo the payment?   I bought with a credit card for the first time btc's and open an Electum wallet where my btc's can transfer to. From the wallet I did the payment to the scammer(s).

Hope it can be fixed.

Bitcoin transactions are irreversible.. Sorry to be the barer of bad news, but that's just the way it is. As soon as your transaction ends up in a block, there is no way to cancel it.
The only things you can do is open a proper scam report on this forum, so at least other's won't fall in the same trap as you did, maybe try to track down the scammer (depends on the method he used to scam you... Most of the time it's very hard, nearly impossible, to track them down) and last but not least: learn from this experience...
There is no such thing as a free lunch. Nobody has a magic method to multiply BTC, nobody will double your money without effort from your side...

Hope you did not send large amount of btc because I'm Sorry, there's no way to undo the payment.  You just have to be careful next time.
However, if there are other details of the person like name, phone number, website, physical address e.t.c that yu can lay your hands on, you can get and send to the relevant authorities in your area.

Yeah, unfortunately, your Bitcoin is gone.

The address you sent to has 11 other txs, and has not moved the funds at all, so I wonder if this is an address the scammer directly and manually controls. It might be worth contacting the scammer, and asking if he would consider returning some of your coins, offering to let him keep some.

I know it's sort of like grovelling, but I've seen it work before. In any case, what certainly doesn't work is abusive language and insults (unless you've no intention of convincing the scammer to return you anything).

Cut your losses and don't look back, I've seen too many people fuss and worry over Bitcoin they've surely lost forever. Lesson learnt.

I really don't get how so many people still fall for this! It's like the oldest scam in the book. If someone IRL asks you to give him $100 and promises to return $200, do you believe him? Of course not! So why would you believe this when someone does the same online?

The address you sent to has 11 other txs, and has not moved the funds at all
$10k in a day Shocked Scammers are earning good money from naive greedy people!

I highly doubt that: the scammer can just keep everything now.

No one's answering the thread title so, here we go:

Learn from your mistake and get over it because (as they say) Bitcoin Transactions are irreversible
or better if you can tell us the site where you were scammed and their possible modus operandi so you or anyone here can open a scam accusation to that site.
That way, your experience wont just help you but other prospective victims too.
Also lastly, we aren't 100% sure if that address is really a scammer's address, you know what I mean, right?

A scammer with a soft spot for sob stories?

Personal true story 1993/4 I was new to internet. Installed what I thought was a tamagochi, turned out to be Back Orifice. Everything wiped. Hacker sent me email I contacted and asked nicely. Gave me back plus some.

Hackers have a strange disposition that sometimes can be appealed to.

www.coindesk.com/good-samaritan-blockchain-hacker-returned-255-btc-speaks/amp/

https://bitcoinist.com/hacker-returns-17m-worth-of-stolen-ethereum/

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1396930.0

Of course, the sceptics have their explanations justifying why hackers would do that. Some of the older forum guys probably can remember similar instances.

Not that I want to get anybody's hopes up.

Maybe it's an oldest form of Bitcoin scam but new people enter Bitcoin market everyday and 95% of them aren't aware of how Bitcoin works or what is it actually. I have seen several cases where investors are completely unaware what is Bitcoin, they only know it is some kind of investment which gives higher return in future. Scammers just make benefit of this tendency of people, they lure people with some cheesy lines or write such technical lines which fascinate the layman. Some professional scammers even give people returns 1 or 2 times but in the end, the greedy tendency of people fall to their prey and they lose all.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. Nobody has a magic method to multiply BTC, nobody will double your money without effort from your side...

This is just what contributors on this thread and forum should understand. Life is not bed of roses, to be rich is one of the hardest things to come, though a little bit of luck but you must be dispose to the luck before you attract it. You must do what you have to do.

AS we all know that bitcoin is very sustainable, volatile and versatile crypto currency and and no doubt it is very trustworthy crypto currency and this is the only reason that bitcoin has millions of people that invest blindly and invest a lot in bitcoin, so bitcoin is very trustable crypto currency but still there are people who has been hacked and there are people who reported that they has been scammed so for this you should be very confidential and secure with your wallet keys.

If it has happened then the transaction can not be changed or terminated, unfortunately your BTC is lost and accepted by fraudsters, by P2P then there will not be any third person who can stop it and can not retract and track its existence, it is very much to say you just send it away, many examples then want to cause people to be deceived, I think you can realize it to be more careful, do not believe everyone without strong evidence.

I did not get it, how come that this type of old traps is still working after so long. I am sure there are a lot of people in this community who got scammed dozen of time. And whenever a new user joins the community we should share our experience with them without spamming the forum. Let's make experience sharing a website or even better let's attach a Reddit link on the roof section so every new user can review all the previous experience we all had.
