Copy/paste is not the only reason for banning, although it is one that is very recurring. I would say that one knows perfectly well if whether he copied/pasted or not without having to dig too far into the memory/consciousness.

Bans are not removed out of kindness, but due to solid proof. In the past six months, I’ve only seen one such case, and the proof on the defence was overwhelming.

In the past (2015/2016), your account was accused of belonging to a farm (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1597201.msg16466021#msg16466021 for example). Forum seems a little understaffed, but even so I figure they are not catching up with 2015/2016 cases (who knows ..). Nevertheless, perhaps there’s a more recent case involving other accounts that had you under the radar.

Was it copy paste? Because I don't see other reasons to ban this account. Ok, he/she posted in old thread about World Cup, maybe he just used Internet Explorer . But if we would start banning people who are bumping old threads then we would have to ban 50% of forum users (ok, maybe I exaggarated numbers a bit).

Isn't overall spamming against the forum rules (not just copy/pasting) and punishable? That response made by OP is pure spam. Before OP's post, someone made a post implying France won the world cup, but OP intentionally chose a post from July 10 to come up with a zero value spam post for the sake of posting. But with OP's post history, a permanent ban might be a bit harsh, IMO.


Bumping old threads with something constructive is fine, but it's high time users start getting banned for off-topic replies rather than only replies getting thrashed.

Just because there are worse cases getting through unnoticed and not reported it doesn't mean this should also. Out of curiosity, I've checked his posting history and not surprisingly he is not a one-liner spammer he is a four-liner, for five pages his posts are either 4 lines or 2 paragraph of 2+3, that is his target, reach that number of words and call it a post.

I think that regular money is best for gambling because crypto currency is not for gambling but for making more and more money. If you use your coins in gambling it means that you are using your business in gambling which is the worst thing. Earn money from your crypto and then gamble with your winnings, but gambling with crypto is not sensible.

Generally speaking they are, though it's not a definitive rule and Global moderators can give any duration they feel appropriate for the deed. Permabans are sometimes given out without any other warnings for copy and pasting and sometimes users who's accounts have posted nothing but low quality spam. I rarely give bans out for signature spam these days though as it's the people who are running the campaigns that should be getting them. Can't win a war against a hydra that is spawning thousands of hydra parasites everywhere.
