Good idea. Though I think I'll sit that one out, seeing as I only learnt about ScummVm and SCUMM yesterday after looking at the DOSBox news. This is despite the fact I have a special place in my heart for a few of what I now know to be SCUMM games, like Loom, MM2:DotT and Hero's Quest.

No bother, I shall take care of it. Hopefully after we succeed with DOSBox. Smiley

The games you mentioned, among others, have a special place in my heart as well, and also on my gameshelf. Smiley

Still no word from them? It's strange, when I wrote them the last time they replied within a day or two. :/

That's what I thought, so yesterday I contacted Qbix via the DOSBox forums. He has now replied to my mail, but was less than enthusiastic. I think this may be a matter of a simple misunderstanding of my message, and thus solvable.

Our mission is complete. DOSBox have posted a Bitcoin address on their crew page and I've sent the donations. This is Transaction 6503c9c3958d21d3408a495c22920783cbf81fe13e1cb7a43ea3823f3b1ce737.

Arguably it would be better if he (Qbix) made it clearer that this is a Bitcoin address, but I guess he's not comfortable enough with it yet.

If anyone hasn't donated but now wishes to do so, they are of course welcome to send to DOSBox's address.

Thank you to everyone who has participated!

Thank you for working on this. I hope they put the money into good use and make the notice more visible so that more people can donate.

I ran out of bitcoins, but I'll definitely send mine either to the escrow account or to DOSBox when I get more.

Send them directly to DOSBox.

Btw, I think our next target could be http://www.scummvm.org/ Smiley
It's a good idea to find new common-used targets Cheesy
We can make a poll about them.
I think that a good one could be "Tor".

Tor can be useful also to people that will probably going to use Bitcoin.
It will spread the idea of Bitcoin in countries where there is a limited freedom.

I think the "we" was referring to Bitcoin users who appreciate classic PC gaming. You are welcome to start a thread about Tor.

Besides, torservers already accepts Bitcoin donations.

It ROCKS to be able to donate to DOSBox via Bitcoin! I have been donating via Paypal for years and it's just so cool to be giving them coins now, without Paypal's cut. Cheesy
