Altcoins harsh sell off past 2 days

I wasn't sure if there is any news why most of the altcoins have been aggressively selling off very strong today after a negative day yesterday.  If so could it be because of the congressman article?

I trade frequently on Poloniex and the average coin is down like 10% today after most were down yesterday and I don't why but either stop losses were triggered or some whale(s) or panic sellers dumped heavily on eth/btc xrp/btc fct/btc btm/btc dash/btc all about 2 hours ago.  I just bought more factom and dash when I caught them low like this.

The market is down about 5-10% of most coins, maybe this is a bad signal or a form of killing margins of whales. Keep a close watch on the market to make the right investment decision.
