I want to dive in but really scare right now. It seems Mt. Gox is rattling the market a bit.

Okay, so you meant the price of bitcoins on MtGox. Since you can't withdraw those bitcoins they're not really bitcoins.

I can understand why you want to wait to see how things play out with MtGox. I am not confident in my ability to guess which way the price will go, but I think it really will go somewhere. Smiley

As a holder of a small amount of BTC though, I am fairly confident that even if there is a crash, it will not kill bitcoin and that bitcoin still has higher value to reach, later on down the line.

@ Grifferz,
Market value is based on speculations and rumors and the negative news and hacks putting bitcoin future in jeopardy. I think the US government has something to do with it. This thing took them by surprise...they don't know anything about it and how to control it so they want to kill it before it tries to replace money.

Sure they are. And "bad media" are doing the same.

But from a week I heard many good news for bitcoin and I believe price will go up soon.

Kraken Account, Robbed/Emptied. Kraken say "Fuck you, its your loss": https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1559553.msg15656643#msg15656643

Bitfinex victims. DO NOT TOUCH THE BFX TOKEN! Start moving it around, or trading it, and you will be construed as having accepted it as an alternative means of payment to your USD, BTC, etc.

You are quoting the value of bitcoin as seen at MtGox. MtGox isn't the only place you can buy bitcoins. Arguably MtGox isn't even a place you can buy bitcoins, since you can't withdraw them.

It makes no more sense than me saying you can buy BTC from me at $1 each, but I will not tell you when I will send them to you, and then having a site quote my $1 as the price of bitcoin.

Just look at the price on any other exchange.

I think it is a good time to buy. Yes it may go down further in the short term, but in the future people will be wishing they bought more at the $600 range
