Back in October 2017 , Oracle (Giant Database Company) decided to enter into the Blockchain technology. Oracle at that time also commented that Blockchain and databases are not competing entities and adoption of blockchain will  strengthen their database business.

https://www.coindesk.com/oracles-entrance-database-giant-unveils-enterprise-blockchain-strategy/

Look like now they are successfully rolled out their Blockchain service as  BaaS (Blockchain as a service) with Arab jordan bank as their first client.

There service is based on open source hyperledger fabric framework.

Perhaps I'm missing some important details here but these centralized vendor-supplied blockchains sound quite useless. It doesn't even look like the customers are running a bunch of distributed nodes but rather accessing Oracle's "black box" blockchain via an API. How is that better than an Oracle database?

Articles like these are full of praise for blockchain technology, but I don't really see how Oracle is going to run their network so as to enable security and immutability. From the second article:

Quote
Another aspect of blockchain Biagianti likes is its distributed nature, which makes it more secure and unalterable.

If all the nodes are going to be their own, Oracle will have full control over the blockchain, thus it won't be any more secure or immutable than their databases.

@suchmoon

I think you are correct as they said "Blockchain will strengthen their database market and will not be competitor to their database business"
Companies like Oracle just buy anything if they find some one is offering a better product than them just to eliminate competition.

@butka
Your concern look valid, If Oracle own all Nodes then their Node can become dishonest at any time.
 Clients data security now  lies on hand of Oracle instead of on their own hand, It really look like a bad move on part of clients.
