Hi everyone,

I just started getting involved in this crypto frenzy a couple months back, so I'm "kinda" new at this.

However, I usually use coinmarketcap.com to get a quick overview of the market. What has caught my attention is, when I sort the list after volume ( from largest to smallest ) , that MaxCoin is in fourth place. What's up with that? Anyone knows why there is so much activity with this coin?

people thought they would get rich with using the guy's celeb status so when the coin was pre-announced we all dived on it hard.

I think, there are some reasons:
1. There is too much attention from Max Keiser, the front-man on Russia Today channel. Many people were attached by this man.
2. It's traded on mcxnow.com. I think it's the one of the best exchanges. It has live refresh, TrollBox, so you can see, how trades are really occur. It's very interesting to trade here. All other exchanges, such as Cryptsy are slowly and annoying. CoinEX is good too.
3. Initially, this coin claimed as CPU-only. So it involved many people in this coin. What happened next is another story.

Max is a bit of a celebrity in the cryptocurrency world.  He is a celebrity with an economic show in London, which is on Russia Today.  He talks economics, but a portion of his show seems to be dedicated to Cryptocurrencies, and he is a big pusher/pumper for a long time.  There are a lot of people who follow his every word, and he has some friends with deep pockets.

The currency itself is a bit of a joke, but Max claims he will pump the coin so much that it will overtake BTC in a short time.  More than likely not a possibility, but many people (Myself included) have been collecting some just in case.  If nothing comes of it, it won't be worse then most of my other investments in a crypto.

it won't be worse then most of my other investments in a crypto.

crying hard for my other investment in crypto.

cosmocoin, earthcoin, worldcoin, new Zealand coin(MEC), Iceland coin, tiny little backyard coin
tiger coin, doge coin, cat coin, mouse coin, maggot coin
extreme coin, stable coin, fast coin, slow coin,
pot coin, sex coin, casino coin, tittie coin,
ron paul coin, kenye west coin, gaga coin, paris hilton coin

And I am feeling so small,
It was over my head,
I know nothing at all,

And you will stumble and fall,
I'm still learning to love,
til you find a bottom and crawl
