This is great news for cryptocurrencies. IBM entering cryptocurrency space is another key step to legitimizing this  industry (Crypto) for mainstream and institutional investors

IBM is considering creating a stablecoin for use in its own blockchain platform. The company currently uses stellar as its payment method. The new cryptocurrency would be pegged to the dollar in an effort to make it more stable and usable for payments http://fortune.com/2018/07/17/ibm-stablecoin-cryptocurrency-stellar/

Really positive news and good to see big companies have realized the importance of blockchain technology and now are jumping on boat one by one, we can easily see that mass adoption is not too far away now.

This does really sound interesting to me. What do you guys think about buying some IBM stocks? I have thought about buying some IBM stocks before but if they invest into blockchain they might become huge

I really like the idea of "fixing the price of crypto to the dollar" this will make the price of crypto more stable, but the question in my mind is whether it can be done, because if possible, the coin will potentially replace Fiat money.

This is sounds great that IBM will create its own crypto currency. I think it will success if they continue to create own crypto currency, because we all know that IBM is most known in computer technology. And I think there are many investors will invest for their upcoming project.

It's a little bit surprised for me, i thought that before the IBM company wants to build its stable crypto in the stellar ecosystem and is it not true? It looks like i will try to dump all of my stellar to the market as soon as possible.
It seems not good for me personally. If they are using stellar as a payment method and why they need to build a new blockchain?

I have also read somewhere that IBM will be teaming up with Veridium Labs for carbon credit blockchain project, which they will use on Stellar platform as well. Here is the news article: https://techcrunch.com/2018/05/15/veridium-labs-teams-with-ibm-and-stellar-on-carbon-credit-blockchain/

I find this carbon credit project quite interesting.

IBM for sure is working on this before and now they finalize their decision to make their own blockchain technology and will enter in the competition soon. Its good to see a news like this and you are right big companies are now looking for this technology and for sure they all have the legal team to study cryptocurrency which they need to adopt or else they will left behind.
