I have a TF3 7970 with one dead fan, but it works fine if there is another fan pointed at it. I also have a TF3 7950 where one of the fans is acting up occasionally and is probably on its last legs.

I am considering RMA when the time comes for either one or both of these gpus, as they are both still under warranty. My question is, what is MSI going to do for me? Are they going to repair the fan or send me a new card? Seeing as MSI doesn't make either of these cards anymore, does anyone know what card they will send as a replacement? (If that is what they are going to do.) I am assuming fans are covered under the warranty, but I have read different things about MSI fan policy.

Or are there other options? How difficult and costly is it to void the warranty and put in a new fan set myself? I am not even sure what the problem is, I assume the motor or the bearings or something, the blades themselves are fine.

If anyone has any experience with this they would like to share I would be very grateful. Thanks for your time and thanks for reading.
