At least they are asking the question.  Smiley The title alone should peak a little interest I would think.

Then there are even less predictable and higher-risk variables. Obviously, bitcoin's future price depends hugely on the adoption rate of the cryptocurrency model. Athey believes that the cryptocurrency model of distributed ledgers is "a really simple, powerful technology that is superior to existing technology," and there are major drivers that point toward wide adoption.

It's not so much a question of if, just when.

Of course this article is sensational. If we ever do get $50k BTC price then it will be after at least a 18 months and a bunch of huge barriers and tests that make it look questionable the entire way through. No doubt this sucker is a wild bronco that will be hard to hold onto. In retrospect, though, hasn't the entire story of bitcoin already been sensationalized to death for the  last two years and yet in the long run it just keeps marching higher faster and faster? I don't really think sensationalism is going to hurt this thing much more than it already has with the accusations of underage porn and international drug trading, plus hiring henchmen to kill people. How much more outrageous can this get? I really have a hard time seeing anything as bad news anymore when it comes to BTC. Whether this works out or not, the idea of securely encrypted online commodities for trading as currency or otherwise is absolutely unstoppable as it is just too good at serving a public need. The ability to trade real property online quickly and cheaply is going to speed up our species like the automobile or the telephone.

You just have to understand it for yourself. It feels like you are losing your mind at first because nobody ever thought that wealth transfers could ever work like this before. This is the first time anything like this has ever come along, and it is a ride many of simply cannot afford to miss.
