Russia's aggressive plans in the Caspian sea

The article "Around the Caspian Sea" discussed the possible strategic plans of Russia in the Caspian region, whose countries are serious potential competitors of Russia in the oil and gas market (1). This circumstance can deprive Russia of its monopoly on the supply of hydrocarbon raw materials to the EU countries, which is similar for a one-sided Russian economy. Moscow does not want a repetition of the economic situation that led to the collapse of the USSR and painfully perceives any project of gas supply from the Caspian basin countries to Europe bypassing Russia. So, by 2020, gas from Azerbaijan will be supplied to Italy via the "Southern Gas Corridor" (2), and Turkmenistan will join the construction of the trans-Caspian gas pipeline to this project. It seems that such a turn of events is perceived by Moscow as the highest manifestation of arrogance, and even from former brothers who decided to arbitrarily dispose of their natural wealth.

To stop once and for all such a bacchanalia of the disintegrating fugitives, Russia continues to prepare for the restoration of the empire within the borders of the USSR at an accelerated pace, which, in addition to the Ukrainian events, is also confirmed by the buildup of naval forces in the Caspian. In a bragging note about the transfer of the basing of the Caspian flotilla from Astrakhan to the Dagestan port of Kaspiisk, which is characteristic of Russian media, hint at the Caspian port (https://russian.rt.com/russia/article/499196-kaspiiskaya-flotiliya-baza-dagestan) it does not hide that "The move will significantly increase the capabilities of this operational association of the Navy." Further it is reported: "As a result, a full-fledged port infrastructure will be created in Dagestan port." The base station will be protected from natural disasters and possible enemy attack. "
I wonder what kind of opponent from the countries of the Caspian region is planning to attack Russia? It is necessary to be crazy to set such goals, and like among the leaders of the Caspian countries, the mentally ill are not observed. And yet, today Russia has a much larger number of warships in the Caspian than it was during the Cold War. Moreover, modern ships with missile armament were put into operation. In total, the Caspian Flotilla consists of 17 units. The surface component includes 28 warships and boats: two patrol vessels, three small missile ships, four small artillery ships, five artillery boats, one missile boat, seven minesweepers and six amphibious ships.
From the fact that there are six amphibious ships in the fleet, there is an unequivocal conclusion that Putin's Russia intends to despatch them and not to its own territory, but must be presumed to the neighboring Caspian countries. Iran is unambiguously excluded. There remain Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, that is, countries that are Russia's competitors in the sale of hydrocarbons.

Uncovered aggression is hidden in the words: "The tasks of the KFL include the assistance of the forces of the Southern Military District, the protection of trade routes and oil fields." On the protection of which oil fields in the Caspian Sea can be discussed, if Russia does not possess any, unlike Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan? And under the trade route, probably, is meant, recently opened bypassing Russia "Silk Road" from China to Europe, including a ferry crossing across the Caspian Sea from Kazakhstan to Baku (3). From whom, in this case, is Russia going to guard the sea crossing? Not really from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan? It is necessary to think that protection is implied only as capture. Foreign Minister Lavrov openly spoke on this score: "The project of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline affects the legitimate interests of Russia." (http://tass.ru/politika/1582470) That's right, neither more nor less. In other words, if Baku and Ashgabat decide to build a gas pipe along the seabed of the Caspian Sea, then inevitably they will violate the laws of Russia, and as you know, the conversation is short, and the method has long been successfully tested since the annexation of the Baltic countries: the introduction of the army (in modern interpretation - ikhtemnetov), then a referendum on voluntary accession, with the provision of dissatisfied free spa treatment in the Arctic.

The agreement on the status of the Caspian Sea essentially approved the military hegemony of Russia in the water area of the Caspian Sea, and the creation of marines in the structure of the Russian fleet in the Caspian Sea, which had never before been, clearly points to the Kremlin's military plans for the Caspian countries.

oil and gas market is dying and will be for losers in the future anyway. just look at venezuela the oil richest country in the world. people have trouble to buy there toilet paper.
additionally there are electric cars (tesla) and fusion power continues to come closer (iter), additionally you forget the polar sea, that has vastly more oil and gas reserves than the kaspian sea

russians arent so stupid to look there for oil and gas they more likely consider many of their southern neigbours as potential savages especially (afghanistan, pakistan). and want to wall them out, and define their southern border.

to secure long term development in their sector.

no i am not racist. its a purely socioeconomic consideration. regarding, economic security. environmental protection, human development etc. btw iran walls also pakistan out for a security consideration, or india bangladesh.

the fact that you are now trying to accuse me of racism. proofs that the russians are right in not trusting some of their southern neighbours.

your oil and gas garbage is completely ridiculous. russians have enough oil and gas they dont need international confrontations to obtain those.

what is more likely is the activity of multinational corporations in that region. that want to extract oil and gas. but these dont necessarily are just russian they can also be multinational corporations. they can be chinese mongolian american, european, japanese. the russians have their environmental protection laws. same like those countries. the people there need to extract ressources to run their economy, and thats right. if you oppose them you are either a racist, a communist or a xenophist. you are from the same storage where the current socialist/communist government in venezuela is from that is unable to feed its people and scams them with a cryptocurrency. they also started with an opposition against mulitnational foreign companies.

btw. it is actually possible (and gets more and more easy to achieve) for foreigners to found a corporation in russia and extract the ressources in the caspian sea (also with foreign workers). if they can fullfil the environmental protection standard.

And last but not least, ISIS forces (trained and fed by Western instructors)
now need to be evacuated somewhere after defeat in Syria.
They were hired in every Arab country destroyed by "colour coups".
Iran - coup failed.
Turkey - coup failed.
India - will not believe Englishmen ever.
But ISIS owners need them in Central Asia or even in China.
(How they would mask them as Chinese, I would like to know).
Maybe, if they are really lucky, they will manage to smuggle ISIS mercenaries into Russia.
But I doubt.

i wouldn't care about ISIS if the negative consequences of it would be filtered out away from where i live.

putting the western demcracy, central banking, and human rights system on all places of the world isn't  working well and also has negative consequences like the demographic crisis and loss of population growth. russia is supportive for religion not without reasons.

if isis would have its defined borders i wouldn't care about it. but i rather think that the power elites in saudi arabia (gulf) want to inherit isis power position.

but the biggest question here is, why is this OP so hostile when others are developing their countries economy? is he some kind of troll of the iranian oil industry that are afraid because they cant sell enough oil to russia anymore to then buy nuclear powerplants (foreign trade deficit) thats what i would suggest.

i mean did you ever saw, germans, russians or chinese posting hostile topics, because the saudi arabians, indians or others are developing their country and their economic infrastructure?

He claims to be from Azerbaijan, which in fact was called North Azerbaijan before becoming part of Russia.
2/3 of Azerbaijanis live in Iran in province of Azerbaijan (without word North).
Why Iran didn't accept them back? probably Iran doesn't want Azerbaijan united, as it would tip the scale to Turkey's side too much.

After the Turks defeated the Bagdat Caliphate, they were not united. Persia was ruled by the Turks of Azeri and in the former Byzantine Empire ruled by the Ottomans. They constantly fought each other. After Russia conquered the Caucasus, part of Persia moved to Russia, namely, Northern Azerbaijan. Since then, Azerbaijan, which used to be part of Persia, was divided.

Western democracy just doesn't work in all countries. Eastern ones especially need to have a firm hand as a leader or they feel lost. Just look at the Central Asian "democracies" which have reelected the same man since the Soviet Union fell almost 30 years ago. Although there is a good amount of vote fixing going on there too...

In Middle Eastern nations an interesting study has found that communities ruled by a Padishah cannot tolerate democracy in the western model. They prefer to trust their local leader instead.

Most major conflicts in the past several decades have been targeted at countries that don't allow fractional reserve western style central banks. They're the ones that had refused to open up to western corporations wanting to invest. That didn't take bailouts from the IMF. That have no Goldman & Sachs, no MacDonald's, no Ford.
