Does anyone remember ( only the older ones probably ) a game where you had a space craft and traded metals and grain etc between planets. You also could attack or get attacked. It was like a wire framed thing and you had to dock in a rectangular slot to land. I just remember playing it but can't for the life of me remember it's name.
LMAO pressed post and it popped into my head. It was called Elite. Loved that years ago.

Thinking of Monkey Island has just made me remember Leisure Suit Larry. You even got a tongue action to lick certain things in the game and also characters. Now that was a great game and unbelievably rude for it's time.

By the way guys, I checked out the SWG Emulator, I haven't seen it in a good couple of years, they've got just about everything working and it's fucking amazing! I just had a serious nostalgia-gasm from it and I suspect I am going to end up playing it for 24 hours straight now. If you can get your hands on the files needed for the game it's definitely worth it, I'm lucky in that I have the original CD's so it was an easy thing to install the game and register, as there are those who don't know, the original game was fantastic before it got ruined by SOE and it was one of the few MMORPGs out there that didn't just devolve itself into a horrid grindfest, there was grinding in it but there was so much to do you hardly noticed and there were all sorts of non-combat skills involved as well that directly benefited players. http://www.swgemu.com/forums/index.php

I miss the old '80s and '90s games. I stopped playing games when everything went 3D. I was always having a bit of motion sickness playing those games. I already had that with Wolfenstein 3D (still loved playing that). Also many modern games have too complicated controls.

Tinus42 you are probably right. I used to play it at work when things were slow and they wouldn't have had colour monitors then. Half the computers were still green screens with 5 and a 1/4 floppy drives. I think they only had 1 meg of memory too.

I used to play the Spectrum as a kid and I thought all the games were in black and white, but it turned out we were just playing them on a black and white TV . Was amazed when we plugged it into a colour one.

Was amazed when we plugged it into a colour one. Nice and all games seems not the same any more So you could play each one again with new feelings! I had same thing with my C-64 and changing into Colour TV

The best one for me is Heroes of Might and Magic! In the list of my favorite ones there is a little-known Arx Fatalis.
