Hi,

I know that volume is the number of BTC or altcoin sold or bought in the period of 24 hours.

But something not logical here.

For example:
I sell 1000 BTC, and someone buy it, the volume under 24 hours is 1000 BTC right now.
What if the buyer of 1000 BTC resell them (The same BTC i sold)?

So 24hours volume will be: 2000 BTC ?
It supposed to be 1000 BTC since only 1000 BTC circulating.

If not, how the volume is calculate exactly ? How trading plateform track BTC if they are sold already or not etc ...

Thank you in advance.

I cannot say for sure, but if 24 hour volume is defined as the sum of all buy and sell orders that have happened during the last 24 hours, then the two 1000 BTC transactions should be counted twice, so yes it would be 2000 BTC.

Calculation of volumes would really tally out in both buy and sell of bitcoin or any crypto but on the dollar or fiat aspect. We should not mind on the token circulation because its not being written out but rather when you do checked out here with BTC market. You will definitely see Volume(24hrs) do focus on USD value and you cant see any other informations besides it.

Yes. It doesn't matter how many times these coins get bought or sold, they keep adding to the volume that's being generated. You can create an insane amount of volume by constantly buying and selling into your own orders, which is happening on basically every exchange. Nowadays there is a new concept called mine-by-fee. It results in huge loads of volumes to be artificially generated by people buying and selling into their own orders, all to scoop up ("mine") as many exchange tokens as possible. All this volume counts towards their 24h volumes. These exchanges have been removed from CMC because it stinks and isn't genuine volume....

Hmm, nice question. I guess If you bought 1000btc and you bought ETH for 1000BTC, then there would be 2000BTC of total BTC being transact. A coin with a good and almost equal number volume of being bought and sold is an indication of healthy coin.

I don't have any knowledge on how coinmarketcap administration calculating the how much volume is a trading platform has. But in my own opinion they are calculating it through the number of bitcoins are there in a 24 hours of trading.

You guys are complicating too much. Its not sum of buy and sell beacuse buy for 1 person is sell for other. 24H VOLUME IS SUM ON ALL TRANSACTIONS.

Like this here on binance. It dasnt matter if its green or red in here. If it was created by stoploss or take profit or any other poo poo. Just add amount of every transaction and you have volume.

Volume is sum of all transactions not circulated amount of bitcoin. Thats why volume can be higher than marketcap - i've seen coin beeing pumped 1000% which 1 day volume was 10 times bigger than marketcap (every coin change hand 10 times during 1 day). And with 1 btc you can create 10 000 btc fake volume buing and selling to yorself. (thats how shit exchanges are becoming popular (lbank, uex or bitforex) - boosting trading volume trading with themselve)

"It supposed to be 1000 BTC since only 1000 BTC circulating."

It would be too hard to track each btc to know that this transaction has btc that was calculated in other transaction these day.

A coin with a good and almost equal number volume of being bought and sold is an indication of healthy coin.

Wrong !
Every coin has equal number of volume being bought and sold. When you buy on market someone else have to sell. Thats how it works.
