Countries will not be worried about the cost of printing money. It is a small fraction of the value of the fiat currencies they actually print. But they will have other interests in mind for switching to a (fiat) cryptocurrency. And that is the ability to track all transactions, to decrease tax evasion and to even implement negative tax rates.
