Ok, lets say later today they announce that withdrawals will resume today or tomorrow, it is widely expected that prices on Gox will spike up because ppl want the cheap Gox coins in order to sell them for Bitstamp an BTCe prices (currently a difference of 260$ or better expressed, a 60% gain). Also annoyed and scared users of Gox will want to get out at higher cost then that to move their money out of MtGox by means of BTC withdrawal.

Considering all variables like order book depth, reaction of other markets and uncertainty about MtGox' solvency, what do you estimate the resulting price on Gox (and other exchanges) will be like?
Pls be explicit about how you calculate your numbers and what factors you consider.

Would not surprise me if it spiked to $800 then fell as people find out how much they can really withdraw (if anything at all).

how high will bitcoin spike or how high will mt gox spike? critical difference.

Its amusing how most people believe good news for Gox = ATH bitcoin. total rubbish.

they will sit ready on bitstamp to buy, and they will be crushed by the whales when they fill the arbitrage.

I was talking about MTGOX price. The other prices are much more legit. Gox's price is a joke.

It would be the equivalent of The Bitcoin Circus Price.

Now is the time for the ultimate market troll. The troll needs to announce "withdrawls will be re-enabled on Friday" and then announce on Friday that "some unexpected technical issues arose" and he "has to delay it again" but he is very sorry and will "update" "in another 4 business days".

Look they're testing their code, ran into some bugs:

If it withdraws and it works and their limits are fairly high, we could see >1000 lol.

I'll say 850. Initial spike to 750. Stabilization of other exchanges to reach a 5% average spread. Additional traffic will make the spread at 20%

So: 750*.95*1.2=855 but I like rounding so 850.
