I never had graphics like this in my life and the only reason I bough 2x5970 - to generate bitcoins.

But since I am already here, can someone recommend some very cool 3D game which will use these two cards in full? I prefere HitMan-like games, but anything looking cool should be great =)

If you've never played Mass Effect 1 or 2 do that. They're awesome. I'll be surprised if you don't enjoy them.
If you do play start with 1, no point in skipping it. The stories are connected and 1 is just as good (or better).
You can play with lower end cards but will be able to max it out with 2 5970's I'd imagine.

Seriously haven't enjoyed a game that much in a while.

Metro 2033 is a very good game, easily the most demanding game I know of, and scary too.

My nominees are:

total war: shogun 2
dragon age 2

sometimes I boot one of my mining machines into windows to play those two.... though it's eye watering counting how much BTC's were lost because of the playtime... the price of the game is peanuts in comparison to price of lost bitcoin opportunity.

I've got dragon age 1 but I haven't played it yet, too busy, heard it's awesome I'm assuming 2 is better.

If you look at playing half the weekend as 30 lost BTC it's really not that bad.
Sucks to think about playing video games as losing money though.

stonetz, dragon age 2 is way better than 1, unlike perfectly valid observation above on Mass Effect 1 and 2.

Vlad would you say don't even bother with dragon age 1 and skip right to 2 then or I might as well play both?

You could play both. They are actually somehow related, i.e. you could load your char from 1 to 2, just like in Mass Effect. However, Dragon Age 2 is much more refined as compared to 1.

However, if your time is limited I'd say ignore 1 and go for 2. Same thing but better.

Time is really limited, might not even play at all most weeks so I'll take your advice and jump to 2. I doubt there's anything that would ruin 1 if I want to go back and I have a huge list of games I want to play.

Thanks for the advice.

The most graphically intensive games are:
Metro 2033 and Crysis.
Since Crysis 2 is really awesome get it, now! Why are you still reading?

Crysis 2 played pretty poorly, and there are no granular graphics options and it looked pretty mediocre.

No way I'd pay anywhere close to retail for it, maybe 5 bucks or so tops.

That's sad, has to be one of the most anticipated games in a while.
No where near StarCraft2 but you know what I mean.

I don't mean it's good because it's anticipated. I mean that if there is a lot of anticipation it SHOULD be good.
This anticipation (especially this time) is based on something. The first Crysis was good. The first StarCraft was good etc.
Also I anticipate that if the same team that made Mass Effect makes a game it will be good.
This does make you vulnerable to disappointment though.

With music though it seems to be a let down more often than not.....Chinese Democracy?

I'm positing that just because it's anticipated doesn't mean it SHOULD be good. It just means that people are looking forward to experiencing it.

For example, I was looking forward to Supreme Commander 2, but it was absolute shit Wink

Ok, let me rephrase that  Grin, people liked the previous one so they SHOULD like the next one seeing how technology / budget have increased and they've received feedback.

But it's already been shown that this isn't always true

I can think of quite a few, Starwars episodes 1,2,3 immediately jump out.

You may also need multiple cores, But I highly recommend  ArmA2. It is more of a combat simulator than a game. Very advanced, endless fun. I love this game so much I built a ridiculous machine just for playing it. I even installed a version of windows instead of Linux.

I can't believe no one has mentioned bad company 2 yet. Visually stunning, team oriented first person shooter (with vehicles!).  I'd probably be willing to sell my copy to you or anyone else for bitcoins, It's one of my favorite games but I quit gaming a month ago. Just shoot me a pm.

Besides that suggestion, be aware that a lot of games have mods available with high res textures and models for the whole game.  Such mods can make games like HL2, which came out in 2004, look better than most games released this year.

As for games coming out later this year, keep an eye out for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Battlefield 3.
