As far as I know, bitmessage can currently only be used to sent and receive messages, not to encrypt files.

Dude, is what I said. Is this parallel universe?
Yeah, I just realized. Ok thanks for that I'll check all the tutorials and resources I find and see if I can understand the software better whilst using it.
Getting registered with Gribble is vital as well.. I'll check out gribble to and I will also check out bitmessage as I have heard good things of it.

There is only one chan to be in. #bitcoin-assest Anyway, Bitmessage is flawed, do not use it cause its as good a plaintext email if not worse.

That's a harsh statement to make. Could you elaborate on it? Or do you have a source to support your claim?

Right, technically everyone receives the message.

Right, technically everyone receives the message. Then I won't search up bitmessage I'm the older generation and have recently been suggested Bitcoin by my nephew and I tell you something it's bloody hard work to understand some of the concepts of sofware and security.

You are linking to an article from 2012.. EDIT: This posts covered Bitmessage protocol v1.0 before it switched to OpenSSL ECC because of these problems.

Maybe it's not "as" bad now. But I still wouldn't use it, Quote from the page. "You’re right. In fact, I helped the developers with the design of the protocol version 2 and I did a preliminary audit of the protocol. The fact that I haven’t post about it yet is because I have almost no time. My apologize."
