Japan has a lot of privacy laws. Be careful or you may be the one in jail.

He lives in Meguro-ku, Tokyo and was born and raised in Chenôve, France. He could be in either or neither.
A private investigator would cost you a fortune - knowing this guy could be anywhere. If you'd like to send me on a trip around the world, my BTC address is in my signature.  Wink If not, call Dog The Bounty Hunter.

The SomethingAwful guys claim Karpeles immigrated to France from Israel and declared as his only possession as a katana.  I didn't find the evidence of this to be particularly credible.  But, OTOH, they had recently nailed Bruce Wagner of The Bitcoin Show fame as a real estate scammer and a degenerate (likely) pedo who targets Thai boys.

Hey man I'm just giving you a heads up. I think even taking someones picture without their permission is illegal in Japan.

No, the question one would ask a private investigator is "does Mt. Gox have all the customer's funds it should?" That's a legitimate check on a company's financial situation. Teikoku Private Detective Agency is in Shibuya, as is Mt. Gox. Useful questions are "What banks do they use" and "what are their bank balances?" Any private investigator should have the contacts to find that out quickly. This is the first step when collecting a debt.

If you can locate bank accounts with more money in them than Mt. Gox owes you, you're in a good position to start debt collection efforts.

People really are going loopy.  I can understand, but he was on camera still showing up for work this week.   Its not like he's vanished.   He's probably working from home or the local starbucks with frap on IV.

could you share with us the link of his live camera?
