LOL. Bitcoin is working fine. Centralized exchanges... not so much. Apparently the bridge between Bitcoin and fiat is very difficult to build. Oh yes it is very. But indeed it is on it's way  Builders are working 24/7/365 |

why would you ever keep 30btc on an exchange? keeping over like .5 not in a wallet seems stupid. Because I've just bought it for cheap Guys, please spread more FUD so I can buy more at $300 or less. |

i just got this email  they block my btc withdraw v scared stupid bitstamp i am sending them email now i see if i can post screenshot of the email in a bit why they do this to their customer not good, i think many many person getting this email |

The Gox misery is putting heavy pressure on the other exchanges. real exchanges would suspend trading if that happened and even halt withdrawals.. you bet on it.

Seems like Bitstamp blocked withdrawals for 1000's of selected accounts and sent them emails, not a universal withdrawal block. It doesn't make sense that all these people got it at the same time. |

I just received my 30 BTC from bitstamp. It took only 15 minutes to settle into my address.
Yesterday I got 100 btc. So everything is fine.

I just received my 30 BTC from bitstamp. It took only 15 minutes to settle into my address.
Yesterday I got 100 btc. So everything is fine.

Bitstamp has halted Bitcoin & Ripple withdrawals (TODAY FEB20th), various users have now received this following email!:
Subject: Blocked Bitcoin and Ripple Withdrawals
" Bitstamp has detected an increase in the number of reports of phishing emails which were also received by some of our clients. Our technical team responded by examining the threat and setting immediate security measures in place to prevent potential risks.
As a precaution we have also applied this security measure to your account.
If you have received any emails with suspicious content and have opened links or attachments we highly recommend that you immediately contact a computer expert.
While we appreciate that this comes as an inconvenience we are convinced that our security precautions are in accordance with your expectations in keeping your account secure."
I've confirmed with many fellow Bitcoiners and indeed they've received this email (i have yet to receive it), after receiving this email they are unable to withdraw BTC anymore
what the hell is going on...
If you consider that your system was not affected we kindly ask you to contact security@bitstamp.net to re-enable the withdrawal function on your account. Please be advised that Bitstamp will never ask you to reveal your passw ord. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards, Bitstamp Team |

Did a test BTC withdraw and worked.
It seems those who can't withdraw got the email. So only if you got the email you won't be able to withdraw, however there are many who got this email today which makes the whole scenario puzzling as to why they'd send out emails to thousands of random users in the same day blocking their withdrawals. |
