Dogecoin Proves its Worth with Generosity and Kindness
Dogecoin can now be traded directly with euro after online exchange Kraken began supporting the cyrptocurrency.
Dogecoin's stated aim of getting "to the moon" has taken another step closer with the announcement that major online cryptocurrency exchange Kraken will now support Dogecoin, which means that you can directly convert euros for the first time and buy dogecoin.
Until now trying to buy dogecoin if you lived outside of the US was a rather involved process which typically saw people first buying bitcoin and then converting that into dogecoin.
Kraken is a well-established cryptocurrency exchange which already trades in bitcoin, litecoin, namecoin and ripple along with US dollars and euros.

The addition of dogecoin to Kraken's exchange is another important step for the two-month old cryptocurrency, as it tries to raise its profile and move away from the image of being somewhat of a joke currency.
In order to use Kraken to trade in any currency you need to be verified. To allow you trade only in cryptocurrencies you only need to submit your date of birth and telephone number, but in order to trade with fiat currencies like euro and dollars, then you will need to provide proof of address.
Last month another exchange, Vault of Satoshi, announced support for dogecoin, in what was seen at the time as a move which would weaken the cryptocurrency's dependency on bitcoin.
Dogecoin fans in the UK will have to wait a bit longer to use sterling to buy dogecoin with Kraken saying it is planning on supporting the currency soon.
