"The existing Visa credit card network processes about 15 million Internet purchases per day worldwide. Bitcoin can already scale much larger than that with existing hardware for a fraction of the cost. It never really hits a scale ceiling."  Satoshi Nakamoto, April 2009          Avoiding taxes is totally legal if you consider and respect the law.

When selectively comparing with CMC data, the data in the screenshot above do not match. For example, LTC as of January 1 cost 30$, and on June 30th it cost 130$. An increase of 333% Smiley in dollar terms.
I would also like to add that it is not correct to evaluate altcoins vs the dollar. The best analysis may be when studying ALT/BTC charts.

Its correct for anyone who understands  that there are 181 data points (every days closing price) and not two, which would be a straight line.

Label for every day is to crowded, so x-axis label is only every 2nd day.
