This is bad news for many finished ICOs. I have seen numerous mining apps in advertisements and their end is nearing. Apps associated with storm and electroneum will experience a huge dump if this proceeds. Nonetheless, Google should have done this way back and not just now.

they just do the great job eliminating those application, i think its a scam. And i dont see any reason that we can make profit on mining using smartphone because even those High wattage computers is having a difficulties in mining. What more to expect with this Low wattage devices

I am with google on this move.
First of all let us talk about the practicality of using someones mobile phone in mining bitcoin.
As we all know bitcoin mining is getting really hard even for this days most powerful pc's then here comes some mining app thru mobile that will tell you could do it with your phone.
Then along the way theyll ask you for payment in order to further improve the potentials of your mobile miner.
And at the end of the day youll just find out that you were just being scammed.
So much better to put an end to it in order to protect  googles users.

Those who are not supporting google's decision. Do you guys know how expensive the mining process is! There is no legit app that can mine btc in your phone.
Once BTC was cpu mineable coin too. But now only dedicated expensive equipment can mine btc. If you try to mine android to mine btc, you may be ended with your phone

I can sense that google is not too happy to see crypto currencies success, I somehow see Google is starting to take stance to slowly weakened the crypto power, but in this case I agree with Google, the mining apps in playstore mostly are scam, as we know that mining through phone is not going to make any profit

Exactly right. In a way, I understand the deterrent Google is trying to set for miners to not use mobile devices for mining. What's their efficiency anyway? Not that high...and its another way to prevent cyber attacks.

It's ok nevermind about this is that's not big deal for me, learn its how to make huge profit using that slow system of app for mining, if people want to mine need to dpsetting up their own mining rig to get huge earnigs of profits.

And don't worry after a month like before google ban cryptocurrency to advertise in the site but later in Google managemnt decide again to stop the ban of crypto advertisement.

This is not about Google being friendly to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies or not. It's about that Google is trying to protect its business interest and the users.
We are all aware that cloud mining is a scam, at least I don't know any such service that is legit and Google simply doesn't want to be involved with something like this or to turn out that he supports some shady business.
Also, it's possible that someone's phone is misused for mining with mining malwares that are becoming very popular and Google doesn't want to have anything with such possibility. So, I support this decision.

the whole article was a bit TL;DR, but i've browsed over it, and i can only say this: They should have banned those apps a long, long time ago. It seems they're not banning cloud-mining apps, which is a petty... They should have banned those to.

The performance of cellphone CPU's/GPU's is just poor (the power usage vs hashrate).

Cellphone mining apps are either a scam, are not really mining (like some altcoins that claim to be mobile-minable, but they just give pre-mined coins or tokens for you to run a "miner" while they show you adds or use your phones resources for other things) or are completely and utterly useless

Even if they aren't a scam, what is the point? Bitcoin/any altcoins aren't meant to be mined on GPUs, let alone CPUs and after that Android phones. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has a chinese smartphone mining rig.

Its a good thing that Google play banned it, but its still gonna be available in 3rd party websites, idiots would be smart enough to download from somewhere else, but would be too dumb to figure out how much they actually pay out.

I heard this news recently in Cointelegraph news channel but at the same time I also heard that still some of the apps are rolling out in Google play store.

The apps which are in play store are waste of time and those apps don't add any value addition for your time and efforts. But the app owners will earn money from the in app advertisements.

The main reason is that mining with cellphones is a very difficult thing to understand, generally speaking that when someone is mining with a cellphone it can make the components of the hardware damaged. Smartphone is not a hardware that is designed to do mining, a limited cooling system can make the phone heat up quickly and then damage. So doing mining with cellphones is a waste, wasting time, damaging hardware and not producing anything. No matter how sophisticated a cellphone is it will not be comparable to the money obtained, the price of a damaged hardware cannot be replaced with the money we get from mining results with the phones we have !!!

It's also a good idea to eliminate dummy mining for bitcoin that you are asking to make a bitcoin but it's not true and it's just a fake so google did a good job of removing these trash apps.

It is funny how people are making FUDs about this. Why is this a bad news for these many finished ICOs? Google banned mining apps on android phones, so? What is the big deal? It is not like a lot of people are favoring to mine crpyto currencies on their phone. These mobile phones or android phones are not really compatible to mining, I did try mining on my Oppo f7 and well, it is a waste of time. Rather than wasting your time on mining on your phone, invest on real mining rigs, electroneum will not be affected by these.

I don't believe its advisable to use phone for mining of bitcoin considering the value of the RAM and draining of the battery due to a smaller hash rate per seconds and its obvious the phone is going to get heated up after series of mining I think the decision taken by google to ban those mining app is the right decision.

I think there are maybe a reason for google playstore to ban crypto mining apps.
Such as malware can be found if the developer of the apps made some shady apps.
A security of the apps must be audited first to become available in playstore i guess.
