EDIT:

It seems that I have made a faux pas here with this request, so I am removing the request. I've left the original request below, so that people can judge for themselves if I actually deserved the comment which has been placed on my profile. While I may have gone about this in a naive way, to be labelled a scammer for it is unjustified.

Rit.

Hi all,

I'm requesting a 0.01 BTC loan, but not until the 27th February. I will repay 0.013 on 28th February.

I do not have collateral, but am willing to provide personal ID documents. Including copies of payslips from the company where I am full-time employed. If anyone wants to hedge with the opportunity to call around to my house and bash me if I default, I'll provide my proof of address also. I live in Ireland.

This is to hopefully gain some trust which may make future trades I have planned on these boards easier.

Am not so much a newbie any more, although I appreciate my status is Junior Member. I have about 300 posts and am active alot Smiley

Anyone want to help me out?

Rit.

Getting a loan usually isn't a good way to prove you're trustworthy. Doing real business with other forum members will help build your reputation.

Yep, agree. But this is a start. And I'd like to build on it. That's all.

If collateral is really required for this amount, I'm happy to post someone a ten euro note Smiley

Gotta promise to post it back tho! Tongue

Nothing really Smiley Just would like to have a little positive feedback on my trust rating for future trades. I'm planning to bring in some stuff from China to sell here on the forums. Thing is, it's all really really low value stuff (about $15 or so per piece) so it'd be alot less hassle if I could just trade my bits and bobs without needing to jump through hoops.

I'll PM you my BTC addy on the day, but if you're watching it, you're unlikely to see the BTC even move until I send it back to you with the interest heh Smiley

I don't think that this is a good idea to gain trust by taking a loan you don't need.

James, with all due respect, can you tell me WHY you think it's a bad idea?

In the real world, this is exactly how you build up a credit rating. What you do with your loan is not really relevant as long as it's paid back. Suppose I replied saying I wanted to buy a subscription to a porn site for a month with the money....would that help?

Simple as this: I'm hoping to start trading on here for small items in the next couple of months. My trust is very likely to be questioned when I start out, and so I would like to build up a record of reliability for roughly the same amounts as I will be trading in now, so that when I start that basis will already be established.

Of course, it may happen that it is never relevant. But I'd prefer to take any economic advantage I can, if that's OK?

In my country we have a proverb saying spring isn't coming with a flower!

so no one can actually relay on one positive trust rating!

And if you still buy porn with CC and you are here then something is wrong with you!

So, it appears that I have been given negative trust for this thread.

Quote
DeadwoodDan 0: -0 / +0(0)   2014-02-21   0.00000000   Reference   Wants a confidence loan of ten bucks for one day "to build trust", offering to give you all of "his" identity documents. Even if this guy were on the level, he'd be a complete and utter moron and you should be cautious if you have to deal with him.

I do not believe this is justified, and have requested the user remove it, but ofc that is up to him.

It would appear that I have gone about this in the wrong way and breached some unwritten law of the Bitcointalk forums, so I'm editing the OP to remove the request.
