I am holding a contest. The reward will be 2 btc (or cash if preferred)

The prize goes to the first person that can build a scrypting miner that hashes consistently over 6Mh/s and will run on a standard home 20amp circuit.

PM me if interested. Will need to provide detailed instructions to replicate (all parts, scripts, firmware, etc). Once reproduced, award payment will be made! This goes well, I will post another contest

Thank you

you should get 6000kh with 6x r9 290x cards I will look into it for you but honestly 4btc is far to much to pay out for that info as its is available on the forum for free

Edit a r9 290x is meant to get around 900kh-950kh if overclocked so 6 will get you around what your aiming for I would advise you to make 2  3 or 4 card rigs instead as they will run much cooler and you will have less issues Smiley

the other option is to go for scrypt asic or fpga but there not readily available at this time

Thanks, changed it, but I will honor the 4 btc for you since you commented

The issue is getting it to not flip the curciut, and it needs to hash above 6 consistently

Not sure if you'd actually hit the 6,000kh mark with those without some pretty hefty overclocks, and the single circuit requirement makes it a little more of a challenge, maybe.

are you asking us to ship you this miner or just post picture so the cgminer output and build instructions. because if you are expecting that box to be shipped to you then 4btc is not enough to build it at current market price and video card inflation

I am holding a contest. The reward will be 2 btc (or cash if preferred)

The prize goes to the first person that can build a scrypting miner that hashes consistently over 6Mh/s and will run on a standard home 15amp circuit.

You did not say if your power outlet has 110V or 230V.

For 230V: 15 amp circuit -> 3450W of power ... one Radeon R9 290 requires 300W of power and provides at least 850 kH ... let's say u have mining rigs with 3 cards each (3*300 W + 100W of idle power = 1000W per machine) - you can run at least 3 rigs - you gain at least 7560 khash

For 110V: 15 amp circuit -> 1650W of power ... it is not that much, 4 cards max...3400 khash max here in this case

the way it could be done just doesn't make sense you could do 6 hd 7990's at $1500+ each but

Here is your build
Mobo: ASRock H81M
Proc:g1820 cel.
hdd: your choice or usb
ram: ddr3 8gb
video: 6x hd7990, GV-R799D5-6GD-B
psu:Antec HCP-1300 Platinum 1300W
5x pcie 1x risers
1x 16 to 16 pcie riser
but your looking at almost 7k for  this build  doesnt make sense might as well pre order an alpha and hope for the best

I can provide directions for a GPU mining setup that hashes over 6MH and runs on a 20amp circuit... but providing this info up front doesn't seem worth it.  Will you put the BTC in escrow?
