THE ETH Fight Club

Looking for a feedback on the following idea.

We want to create a game based on Fight Club idea where you fight other players for tokens. You train on arenas, fight other players and then take participate in tournaments to win token reward of various projects. Cool

Projects carry out championships dedicated to their release, stages of crowdsale to attract community attention to their events. Shocked

Players can choose what tournament to participate in and therefore show the interest of community to projects. The more experience players want to participate in your tournament the more attention of the community you probably have. Grin

Each player can have additional items and creatures to improve skill sets and stats. Wink

We want to implement the economy of the project in the following way:
1) The most active community members can be tournament organizers and get percentage of rewards.
2) Artists can participate in creation of items and creatures and get sales commission.
3) Players can organize marketplaces, manage them and get percentage on sales.

Your propositions are welcome.

If you think this idea worth a while join project telegram group and let`s discuss it. https://t.me/ethfc

First thousand players will surely get benefits from early bird participation.

Summary of the answers below:
1. We are looking at a step by step tactical game where you fight your opponents to gain experience and further participating in tournaments.
2. Winning in tournament fights provide you with tokens of the project carrying out the tournament dedicated to project events like releases, reaching milestones, etc.
3. Player stats and skill sets depend on their previous fight experience. Any fight can improve your skills to help you hit harder or avoid hits of your opponents.
4. Creatures add points to your stats.
5. You can have accounts on multiple servers with their own fight history and according skills.
6. Creatures can be interchanged between your profiles on different servers.
7. There can be one tounament on one server at a time but multiple tournaments on different servers.
8. Tournament organizers (just like bounty mangers) do the event organization and control the reward distribution. Players take part in tournaments of the organizers they trust.
9. Projects allocate certain amount of tokens for the tournament for further distribution among winners. There can be several rounds within a tournament to allow more players to be rewarded.

If you have any questions or propositions leave your comments here and join our telegram group https://t.me/ethfc.
As soon as we figure out we have enough community willing to fight for tokens we will implement the game rules described above.

Thank you for your support.

How do you plan to pick up project for the tournaments?

How do you plan to pick up project for the tournaments?

We will let the community select which project we should have a championship on (from those availble and willing to carry out a tournament).

Players will like select projects:
- that have community attention and have token growth potential.
- most likely scam project will be avoided because there is no reason to spend your time to get a token you are not planning to hold or will not be able to sell in the future.
- players will make an additional project review before participating.
- tournament organizers will have a history of projects connected to and will be trusted or not accordingly.

Game format will add a bit more fun the process of day to day routine work connected to project investigation and review.

There are quite few question about the game itself:

What will the game play include?
How will be the fight process implemented?
Will there be a reward for fights only during tournaments?
Will the player community be able to choose tournament organizers to select those worth trusting?
How will the tokens be distributed?
Will the game be on chain or offchain?
What types of items or creatures there will be?
Will you guys allow items from other games to be used inside your game?
How will the experience grow and affect stats or fight process?
What will it take for you to make the initial prototype?
What do you need to understand that you need to start development of this project?

I might get more questions but this is enough to start with. Thanks.

What will the game play include?
How will be the fight process implemented?

Each fight will be one on one. It will be step by step process when you select where to hit and what to protect. There will be several areas of the body where you can hit and protect: head, body, arms, legs.
Here is a small illistration of the players body https://prnt.sc/kcwk8a

So you select where you want to hit your opponent and what to protect during next opponents attack. Then your opponent selects where to hit you and what to protect. If he hits you where you want to protect the probability of loosing healthpoints decrease. According to strength and agility you have more or less chance to get hit or avoid the strike. It will be identified according to the probability, your previous experience in fights with other players.

So that is how we see the fight process.

Another important part of the fight will be creatures you summon and can use in the fight. Some will provide your additoinal health, strength or will be able to hit your opponent for you.

Talking about other parts of the game. We see different servers with a bit different rules and modifications to your skill sets and stats. Each server will be sort of a separate world where you can have differnt life and skill sets. So in case you got into some bad situations and feel like you need to start all over again you can choose a different server. Your creatures will stay with you. However your stats might be different.

Servers will be managed by different groups of community leaders. We would like it to be less affected by our team and rely more on the groups that want to implement their own logic or world inside the game.

Alone with some additional rules each server may have a marketplace where certain items could be sold. So the server management team (lets call group that created the server and supports it) can make profits during tournaments and selling game stuff inside the marketplace they manage.

Will there be a reward for fights only during tournaments?

We had an idea of allowing winners take some of the tokens loosers have after the fight on the arena (outside the tournaments). Not sure if this is a good idea. That might be a topic of discussion with the community. If you will want to dump some coins or win some that might be a good idea. But we are talking here about things that might have value in the real world and having somebody loose important stuff inside the game might have negative effect on the community. The idea about having a chance to win during the tournament without loosing anything looks way better now. What do you think about that?

Will the player community be able to choose tournament organizers to select those worth trusting?

You will be able not to participate or ignore tournaments of organizers who will have negative previous experience. There also might be some sort of organizers rating so projects know who to work with.

How will the tokens be distributed?

Smart contract or manually. Ether or. We need to identify it down the road. Smart contract is preferable where project team will have some influence on the decision like tournament organizers. Going through this process few times will help to identify the best way.

If this is all about the game, then the first time in need is the visual of the fighting game you are planning, why visual? Because a gamer is more likely to see the visual first to play the game. In addition, the development of the game should also be good, such as the Android game C.A.T.S, the game is simple, but the players will continue to seek perfection with their up grade player. Your idea is very good, but I think it will be very difficult to implemented

Will the game be on chain or offchain?

It is a good idea to make most of the calculations and fights offchain to avoid overloading of the main network.

Things like who owns what creature will be tokenized usring ERC721. That sounds like a common practice now.

Things like experience on different servers, fight logs, overall activity log, stats and skill sets will stay offchain too. Most of them will be recently updated and it does not make sense to spend Ether on that. We might choose fork of EOS or any other blockchain for instance to store some of those value in the future. However while the game process with be identified, adjusted and discussed with the community it makes sense to keep it on the servers.

If there are any other propositions lets discuss them.

When we discussed this idea within our team we kind of think that it is more about the community and getting social than just the graphics. Of course we might be wrong. And you may say the games with web based interface might be outdated. However we think that the main concept is not only about graphical part but more about the rules insides the worlds controlled by community representatives,  economical motivation of players and tournaments where you win or loose depending on your skill sets and previous fight experience. The fight process should value your previous experience but at the same time leave some tactics to bit you even if your skill are better.

The game should be not only about owning the items but about using them to improve your skill sets and stats. The main idea is to win tokens during tournaments and pick right projects to fight for.

What types of items or creatures there will be?

Initially we thought only about creatures that you can have during the fight with you. Having additional items like helmets or other body protection also makes sense. But creatures sounds more fun at least during discussion.

Will you guys allow items from other games to be used inside your game?

We know that there are examples of that like crypto kitties are using in cat fight. We might consider it if the community will ask for that.

How will the experience grow and affect stats or fight process?

Creatures can add points to your stats, skills of your hits and avoid probability. That can be adjusted on different servers so some things have less or more effect.

I'm not saying out to date, but I also recommend that the visual games that you will make to be more attractive, this aims to make gamers more enjoy in playing the game. Because if it's about a game, it's also about hobbies and fun too. And visually here has a role that gamers enjoy more, unless you develop games such as chess or other board games. Of course the visual is not really in need because the game board focuses on strategy

What do you need to understand that you need to start development of this project?

We need to get more people into discussion to understand if the idea worth implementing right now. We have enough resources but as any other startup we need community support. We want to understand if the idea of tournaments for project tokens is interesting for the community and has future. All this without community support makes not sense.

Our mid term goal is to get 1000 members in telegram group without any airdrops or bounty. This should be enough to test and organize game play on a certain level.

So what we propose is the following: if you want to get project tokens besides bounties and in a more close and gamified way (like during fight tournaments) we can develop it and improve alone with you. All we need right now is a bit of support and feedback.

There are some interesting ideas about fight logs reviews if you were spectating the fight itself in the same arena where it took place. That gives you better understanding of your future oponnents strengths and weaknesses. May be also sharing logs within your closed community or fellows.

Provide a bit more information about the tournament process:
Will anybody be able to participate in tournament?
Will there be unlimited number of participants?
How the reward will be distributed?
How many participants will receive tokens? Only first three places?
Do you plan to do only individual fights or will there be group fights as well?

Will anybody be able to participate in tournament?

We have not decided if it will be like top 100 or 1000 players taking part in the tournament. There might be some pre-tournament fights to figure out the best players and have certain number of initial participants. Or it could be a set of play-off fights when only first 64 or 128 players will get any rewards.

Will there be unlimited number of participants?

The same as question above. We are looking for community input here. We might as well try several types of tournaments including shotgun or groups stages when you fight each person within your group.

How the reward will be distributed?

It should be a way where almost every participant will receive at least some small portion of reward. The more fights you win the more you get. This is the right way to reward players.

How many participants will receive tokens? Only first three places?

We would prefere if it will be more than just top 3 players.

Do you plan to do only individual fights or will there be group fights as well?

Group or team fights might be a good idea. This way there is a good motivation to support other players. Thanks for the tip.
