Cuz I have no the aim to receive or beg for merits, I just like Meta thread and I something read it. Also I have no enough knowledge to be very useful in blockchain technology, altcoins discussions or create any attractive content (like data analyse, scam invistigation, alt account searching). For this people have to spend lots of time and do their work insistently and hard. If you wanna merits, please spend several days for reading/learning and I am sure of your receiveing one.
PS: I have lots of post due to participate in many bounties, not due to shit posting in different threads.

The answer is No, I think there should be a KYC verification system and mobile verification system present on bitcointalk.org.

Have you ever think about how hilarious sounds to implement a KYC system in a forum dedicated to crypto-world? The mean purpose of the creation of Bitcoin was anonymity and decentralization, as a new way of freedom and getting rid of all the tyranny having a place in the global economic system.

If a KYC system is implemented in Bitcointalk then it shouldn`t be called  "Bitcointalk" anymore, for it will break all the purposes of the mere creation of Bitcoin.

Also I would like to urge you and each newbee or disatisfied to think about what is happening in this forum because of greedy people who are ready to rip people's throats for a few altcoins. The forum is obliged to protect itself from the flow of ungrammatic and useless people/bots - that's why Merit system is one of the steps that is able to somehow contribute to this task.
If you think that the old members of the forum undeservedly have high ranks, why are not you in their place? Yes, some of them are useless luckymen, but the majority spent a lot of time on this forum for discussions, self-training and the help to other members. Please do not forget this!

But still bitcointalk is not decentralized, only few peoples controlling over it and some legendary members
are such kind of persons who are thinking that bitcointalk will not survive if they are not present on it.

Bitcointalk is actually a very free site. You can come here and read, learn, engage in some debates, et al. You can just create an account and have the right to post mostly in all boards, to as questions, etc. You also have some people willing to help in here, so in case you have any issue related to the forum, Bitcoin, etc, you will have help for free.
Of course, some legendary members are worried about the actual state of the forum - I included. This is being raped for many people with the only goal to earn some cents, so they break the rules every single day.
BY breaking the rules, to have a debate or a good conversation; to learn from others, etc, get more and more difficult, so the forum is losing its spirit, something really sad to the people that have been in here for years now...

I don`t know. Try to picture a beautiful small village in the mountains, surrounded by nature. Suddenly that village becomes a touristic trend and you begin to see how the mountains are full of trash, plastic, that the people don`t have any respect for it, they just want to "rape" the place, to take a photo and they don`t even care about the history of that small and beautiful village or the cultural heritage of its people.

Something like that is happening here in the forum.

I admit that it could be frustrating to see people who churn out garbage getting merit while some people taking their time to put our good content gets ignored which I believe is one of the reason you would have to come out with this questions.
Is merit point system really working?
Of course its working but its not perfect. For the first time, I tend to look closely to people who have amassed more merit than the default merit for quality and most especially the not so popular usernames and lower rank members. For the first time, if you want to rank up legitimately, you have to earn it unlike before where people would literarily be posting "hi" "nice" "ok" "I agree" just to increase their post count and rank up.

One Person has only one account ?
Of course we all know this is not possible and the merit system has equally taken care of this. You can only use it once when you exhausts it, you are back to earning it the right way without which, you are likely to remain one spot for a very long time.

No fake account present on bitcointalk.org ?

Only high quality contents are present on bitcointalk.org

No fake airdrop or bounty campaign posted on bitcointalk.org

Proper distribution of merit point system is present ?

The answer is No, I think there should be a KYC verification system and mobile verification system present on bitcointalk.org.

Why merit point owner should give his earned tokens to other users.

I do not need merit point, keep them in your cold wallet ....

Please mentioned a single member of bitcointalk.org who has got legendary membership after
the introduction of merit point system.

Sorry My English is week, I am not native English speaker .

Some peoples are replying me; I have not got merit points because I have joined bounty campaigns.(Interesting)

Scroll down and see a member whose activity is zero and merit is 1 (Interesting)

Like I said, the process is not perfect with the existence of people trying so hard to look for way to exploit a carefully designed system but for it to succeed, everyone needs to join hands with it. If you are convinced you should be merited, I remember @JetCash has a tread for that and someone is watching even though they don't feel you have merited it yet.

No I think it is personally a waste of time.
More often then none, you see a bunch of n00bs sending merit to one another for whatever reason they seem fit.
If I was a bounty manager, I would care more about the quality of posts instead of the amount of merit.
In theory, I could make a new account and give myself merit.
But being an honest person, this isn't something I would ever do- not to say many others on here don't do it

Is merit point system really working?
Proper distribution of merit point system is present ?

The objective of merit system is to increase the number of users in creating quality posts.  I do believe that this objective has been attained by the current merit system.

The other objective is to assess the ranking up of the users.  Sadly, I am doubtful at this one.  There is an ongoing debate if there are sufficient merits being
distributed across all the boards.  And if there are insufficient merit sources then there will be a scarcity of merits for users to rank up.

Some questions to ponder :
1. Are there sufficient Merit Source to back-up the Merit System? What is the current ratio of Merit Sources to the population of this forum?
2. What is the current ratio or number of users rank-up from newbie to full member (having 100 merits) ? how long?
3. Some observe that there is an increase in traffic on boards that are rumored having high merit distribution ratio or having a high chance that your post will gain a merit.  Is this an indication that the number of Merit Source is insufficient or most Merit Sources are just concentrated on few boards and tend not to visit other boards (e.g. bounties, altcoins, etc)?
4. Merit System becomes advantageous to native english speaker or those fluent in the english language? Many local boards do not have merit circulation which force the users to go to other boards that have higher merit circulation (most of them are in english language).

How do you make "post more quality" - is that a new type of quality? I am curious and want to know more. Tongue
You guys think merit to be some "level" in crypto currency knowledge? It just an award for making good posts - dont over estimate or oversimplify things.

Is merit point system really working? Not completely, but definitely till some extent it has improved the content of the forum.

One Person has only one account ? Nope, many people still hold multiple accounts.

No fake account present on bitcointalk.org ? There are many as you can see number of shitposters and spammers on forum and guess the number of multiple account people have made to participate in signature and bounty campaign.

Only high quality contents are present on bitcointalk.org? There are shit posters and spammers, but overall content of forum has improved and quality has surely increased.

No fake airdrop or bounty campaign posted on bitcointalk.org? They were before and they will be after. People must be smart enough to avoid scam campaigns and choose the right ones.

Proper distribution of merit point system is present ? fair distribution of merits has been an issue since the start of merit system. Many people that make good quality and constructive posts are not awarded with appropriate merits or no merits at all. A solution to this is required to promote impartiality.

The answer is No, I think there should be a KYC verification system and mobile verification system present on bitcointalk.org ? KYC will surely help removing multiple account users from the forum and make forum much more clean. But many people will fear to reveal their information as they wont have security against their private info. The forum is not run by a single person or firm. It is a place where all the people contribute to it and is handled by administrator. Also we dont know about satoshi, the person who created BTC and this forum. So, my question is will you reveal your private info to such forum (site) with no security against it?

Why merit point owner should give his earned tokens to other users? Received merits and spendable merits are two very different things. If you receive 10 merits, you will also receive 5 spendable merits which doesnt count in your merits and should be send to people that make good posts to add to their merits.

I do not need merit point, keep them in your cold wallet .... : Or maybe you do.

I think that the scoring system works well, but unfortunately there is one important shortcoming.

Merit groups are formed, which are exchanged in exchange for financial benefits. What if they cheat others. It is important that there is money, people cheat and it is sad that the administration "does not see" it.

The question is. What will all this decentralisation do for us? From blockchain to the Stone Age? ..

You miss one important point here. Merit sources don't give merit for shitposters, so there are no "Merit groups". And those who exchanging merits for financial benefits are usual users who have some sMerits after Merit drop, but they will run out of sMerits soon.

This is never going to happen and theymos has stated as such.

The number of people trading merit between themselves is probably exaggerated, but it's a very risky business because you risk exposing all your alts and when this sort of abuse is spotted negative trust is usually issued thus ruing all their accounts. If this is something you're prepared to do just to rank up then know that there are serious consequences that probably don't make it worth the risk.

Ahum. You did know I was making a joke, right? I thought mixing up "weak" and "week" like the OP whould've given that one away easily...

I promise next time, I'll be adding a smiley, as to make sure it's clear I am being cynical. I might change my nick to "always cynical" if you really insist.

I do think everyone's free to "wish somebody ban", though. It's called freedom of thought.

Yes I think merit system is really working, however there are some flaws that needed to be addressed. We all know that it is not moderated, but there's some cases that merit abuse is blatantly in front of our eyes but there's no attempt to curb it. At least in my case, when my account was under the hacker, he send all my remaining merits to someone and it is obviously that its a bought account and used my remaining merit to rank up (Full Member status) so that the account can join a campaign. Just look at those reported hacked account and I'm sure that you will find a lot of merit abuse there. And for me, those receiving merits from a reported hack account should be perma-ban, in my opinion.
