In order to collect more money for the creation of good forum software, the forum is selling ad space in the area beneath the first post in every topic.
Please don't.

Or at least make it as described - beneath the first post in every topic - rather than the first post in every page as it is now. That way it will kind of make sense separating the OP from the discussion.

These aren't going to appear for donators I Hope, these are going to be outright disruptive.

It's a bit absurd to complain about a one-line text advert under the top post when half the posts are bloated with ads in their signatures.

Why don't you just charge a small fee for the ability to place an image in signatures? That would probably make more and at the same time help clean up the threads (as many users would remove their images).

I know that would be unpopular but my point is that complaining about one-line ad text is silly given the current kaleidoscope of ads on each page that don't pay for the forum.

+1

There is nothing like a person with a 1 line reply to a message and a 20 line image in their signature.

So do I.

Its not fun especially for newbies when you cant have a link in your sig.

Charge newbies for links and existing members for images.

Easy.
