Of the 20 most unstable countries in the world, all 20 are very or somewhat polygamous. A study by Satoshi Kanazawa of the London School of Economics found a strong link between polygamy and civil war.

I wouldn't like to suggest that polygamy increases the likelihood for civil war as this sounds extremely far fetched. What is more likely in my opinion, is that the culture and society of these regions encourages both polygamy and infighting in different ways. An analogy would be like when smoking causes both lung disease and heart disease, but these two diseases and not mutually dependant on each other and you could have either one without showing symptoms of the other.

Very interesting! I visited Sudan two years ago. I didn't realize in advance that this was such a common thing. It looks like about about 20% of women are in polygynous relationship there. I never met anybody directly with multiple wives, but some people talked to us about it. I was surprised that even some young modern people seem to be okay with it. They may dress in modern clothes and not keep many traditions, but polygamy doesn't seem strange for them. That was new for me.

Yes, i may say that it causes lot and lots of wars, because in many societies a man is allowed to marry as many as wives he want without sometimes caring about their welfare and by the time they grow up and find out that they can not offer any positive impact in the society, they will now turn to nothing but vergabones, burglars, terrorists tormenting the societies.
