A lot of altcoins depend on Bitcoin's price. When the bitcoin rate starts to increase, investors' interest to the whole crypto currency market increases and they also begin investing in altcoins.

This is crypto market for you - there really isn't any logic behind what happens here. BTC goes up -> people sell alts for BTC for some gains. BTC goes down -> alts go down 'cause their value is really tied to BTC. You just have to wait the bull market in this mess.

the short answer is people are cashing out and we desperately need investors to cover all that sell-off. btc is still the safest place to be in crypto, so a lot of people are moving to btc, and that's why it doesn't drop too much.

If you're an investor in bitcoin then you don't have to worry about a thing because this is only the start of bullish market these BER months. I think bitcoin's fluctuating price is due to companies investing with a lot of money that, in my observation and opinion, they only want to make profit for a short period of time, then it turns out that they got tired or somethin, it was just a matter of timing and who goes first or something.

In my opinion, all those related to crypto must have a risk, especially the market conditions that are still not improving and all coint prices have decreased, and we certainly hope this condition does not last long, so keep patient

To be honest most of the altcoins perform based on the performance of bitcoin as the fluctuations in the value of bitcoin fluctuates the value of altcoins because most of the exchanges takes place through bitcoin.

I think that prices for crypto change always, which makes it difficult to follow them. You need to be aware of the fluctuations but don't take it seriously and don't have negative emotions

So bitcoin just keeps going up and down and still not reaching much lower than 6k but everytime these surges with bitcoin happen alt prices keep taking a dive. Even though it seems like when bitcoin takes a dive alts take a dive when btc raises alts take a dive.

Does anyone know why this keeps happening like this usually once money comes out of btc it goes back into the alts and the price raises again but it does not seem to happen like that now. I have lost a lot more % in alts than if I were to just hold btc.

Looking for opinions and suggestions on this subject?

Bitcoin still remains the No. 1 crypto currency. This is why all the altcoins are subject to his influence. Many more traders sell altcoins paired with bitcoin, this also affects the course.

I do not agree with you. The price does not depend on the ETH's only Bitcoin rate. So all based on this technology. Here you can see dependence strongly.

This is new market. Too many coins that we don't need, so while they are useless, their price will dump. I can't wait to see when my alts will gain profit and give me some X.

At the time when I was making this post, the altcoins rate was in the downtrend phase with the price down to $ 400, a reasonable exchange rate could be invested in. And by Q4 2018, the exchange rate of the whole market will recover, and I believe that I will be profitable.

It is obvious that bitcoin is the determiner of the prices for all the other coins in the crypto market. A change in the price of bitcoin significantly affect the prices of almost all the coins. Bitcoin nowadays has been experiencing price decrement and this has had a negative impact on the altcoins.

I think all the worry about alt coin prices is getting a bit outta control.  The good alt coins will surely rise by a large amount once the bear market is over.  If you have a solid project then sit back and relax and ride the upcoming wave.  Good alts will outperform bitcoin.

I feel altcoins should not be generalized because every project have its own different price and uniqueness, there are some projects that are really doing well, while some not doing anything. So I will conclude by saying altcoins are good. we only need to study a project well before investing thats all.

Even most of my coins reduced its value more than 500% of its original bitcoin investment but still I am optimistic on this . I have seen several worst dip the major one was when bitcoin bull run happened and reached 20000$ most of the altcoins value reduced more than 10x of its original vale then after few months it given more than 2x profit . So still I am telling patience is the key of your invested in right altcoin. The major mistake people are doing in crypto market is not researching enough for investing in proper alt coin. If you have confident enough and you know the solution behind the altcoin then no need to worry .

They have been thinking to take the opportunity from the bitcoin bullrun and then if there will be a little signal about the price of bitcoin gets decrease and they will be moving their funds to the altcoin again. But it's still unpredictable and this was based on the usual chart of the bitcoin itself.

Looking for opinions and suggestions on this subject?

i believe it is mainly because each time that bitcoin makes a move (rise or a fall) all the traders in the whole market (note that i said traders not newbie bag holders!) turn their attention to bitcoin. this can be moving their bitcoins to BTC/USD market to sell before the bottom is reached and buy back at the bottom or moving their money there to buy bitcoin at the bottom if they have money which can be the money they gain by dumping their altcoins.
pulling money out of altcoins means they can easily go down. which is what happens each time.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

The market of crypto currency is constantly changing. And every time he begins to behave differently. Therefore, it is necessary to constantly adjust to the market. And if it's done, success will be.
