I think that we see many speculations right now in the market.
Big investors manipulate with btc price a lot.
Small investors are confuse and don't know what to do, to sell or to hold.
To many bad news and rumors.

Yes, I agree with you, short volatility attracts investors to move their assets to bitcoin. altcoin doesn't have good fluctuations. when the market is bearish, altcoin will only kill investors.

Actualy in this happening now,thats bitcoin is rising, while in a few minutes or hour is going down,is only a normal volatility of bitcoin,and i dont thinks thats this is the bullish market that's we've waiting for and those feed news coming from ETF is only a  pulse alarm thats there's a coming bullish market  in this remaining months  of year 2018,and they not stated that this prices increase thats we  enjoyed now is the starting moment of bullish market.

Anyway I can feel that something strange and unusual is happening now because bitcoin is not following the predicting movement strategy of it, it is moving an unusual Direction, that we cannot predict actually.

I believe that what happened with the current fluctuations could have been market manipulations from the whale investors with huge btc resources in the crypto market. Another factor could also be FUD and the negative news from the media outlets triggered this bearish market to prolong it's dip. Yes, to some extent i do agree with you, but do keep in mind that the denying of ETF now, has lead to further possibilities of approval in the upcoming hearings for BTC, which indeed will make prices go even higher then it is as of now. So currently the market might be bearish, but a bullish run is not long, and next door.
