So I transferred some coins, to  new address I control on a separate machine.

I can see the address in the block chain, and that coins are there, and my client is past the block height, but they are not showing up in the client?Huh

what could this be?Huh

deleted blockchain, and by deleted I mean secure deleted that area.

used bitcoind to download from scratch

its ok now.

You might be out of sync or some other problem. Try deleting and downloading client again. That works sometimes. Remember to save the wallet data dough.

The typical reason for your problem is that the bitcoin-qt client has not finished downloading the block chain up to the block that holds the transaction. If you are using bitcoin-qt for the receiving wallet, please verify that the entire block chain has been synced.

I can see the block height in the client is far higher than where the transaction went through on the Block

and my current height is the same as the latest block

Try opening up the debug console and checking the output of getblockhash against some service like blockchain.info.
