You can't always be right, the momentum is dead. Even Goldman Sachs released a new study saying crypto is shitty investment and is all hype that makes no sense. Doesn't really offer anything and current systems can be easily upgraded to match all features of bitcoin

I can make predictions in a bull market and always look like a prophet. But the bitcoin bull market is over .

I think $5000 will be eventually reached. Bitcoin either goes main stream or it dies. I do not see a middle solution.

The middle solution is what you have now: a "steady" rise in value and visibility. The other 2 extremes seem more unlikely to me, as much as I would like to see it going mainstream as soon as possible.

I think the question of BTC being worth $5000 or more is a no brainer - but i think it maybe far slower than the OP states.

The infrastructure behind BTC is just too much in its infancy. Once/If we have stable, trusted decentralised exchanges established, things will change.

Until this happens we will have many more peaks and troughs along the way.

Far too many people bought into BTC in the $1000 frenzy we had last year - and they all seemed to have such an unrealistic understanding of BTC - treating it as a guaranteed ticket to profits....its still a baby at the moment and will have many tantrums along the way.

These weak hands need shaking out!

But i have managed to loosen my addiction of checking btc prices daily - as long as the blockchain is working and the protocol is secure then i am happy. whenever my friends ask me "how is bitcoin doing today" and what they really mean is "how much is btc valued at today" and my answer is always "btc is doing great - satoshi is a genius" no matter what the price is doing.

having a fundamental belief in btc is what gives me strength.....i do not care what manipulators and the media and market are doing to its price...nor does the honeybadger.

I'm not going to commit like Smoothie did, but I do think the fundamentals are coming together. While many have decried the slow adoption of bitcoin, I think it was probably good for it, as now the network is so strong that no entity could really derail it without being brutal and open, if at all.

So, now it's time to get it functional at the retail level. This is doable. We need to get something similar to Visa for Point of Sale in BTC. Being actually Visa would be even better, but one thing at a time.

Despite what some have said, it's not that Bitcoin settles slower than credit cards, it's that it don't have credit cards. Credit cards make a near instant transaction LEDGER, but settle days to weeks later. Bitcoin could easily have such a system, and it would or at least could settle inside of an hour. When that comes about, the value will likely skyrocket, and 5k will be chickenfeed.

Another wildcard is California voting to make bitcoin a form of legal tender. Cali can break or boost anything. That culture has a lock on bizarre.
