$ 10K is a fantastic fund.
if I invest in one coin I will choose Ethereum.
there will be a useful coin. they have a very wide and strong network. Not only that, many projects use ERC20 contract or Ethereum networks.
that is will be a good the reason for choose it.
but I think I would prefer to split $ 10K into a few coins. because it will get a lot of benefits and the risk of failure can be minimized.

I personally feel that Tron has amazing potential. It might not be that dazzling technically but the marketing is amazing and good marketing can make or break a good product.

For me it would be CET. They are low in value and already has a high ROI. In 2 years time, it's price too would increase to balance the ROI and it would yield enough dividend to get a daily income for me in the meantime. If I only had to pick one coin to invest in it would be Ethereum. My reasons are it has the best use case of any coin out there. I agree. I would also choose bitcoin among all other cryptocurrencies considering the situation of having to choose only one coin. We don't know for sure what would happen in the market in 2020 but rest assured it will grow at some points returning high amount of profit. But if the situation is different, it's better to diversify one's investment buy having other coins like eth etc.

That is not the way it works what you are asking basically amounts to driving your car without knowing where you want to go, the first question you need to ask yourself is how much money you want to earn and how much risk you want to take? Until you answer that question any recommendation is useless.

If you want to take a low risk and you do not mind holding for a long time then bitcoin is without a doubt the best choice, you could grab other coins like ethereum if you like but if what you want is to multiply your capital many times over in a short amount of time then you need to pick an ico, but remember the chances that you lose your money are way higher than the chances of getting profits.

I think you are taking the right choice, many will point out to the fact that you could earn greater profits with altcoins or icos but what they fail to mention is that your chances of being one of the lucky ones to make any money by investing in those coins is extremely low, if someone earns 100x in his investment then that means that somewhere there are 100 people that lost money.

So when you take all of that into consideration I prefer to invest in bitcoin, maybe I am not going to get as many profits as those that came before me but it does not matter because I still got in bitcoin early enough to be able to get incredible profits when the next bull market appears.

Terrible advice, how much time and effort does it take you to earn money? You need to spend a lot of time for it, you need to spend years in school and accumulate years of knowledge before you make any significant amount of money just to throw it away in a bad investment, if you are going to invest in something you need to be very sure that is what you want do do.

If you took the time to read a book about investing you will see that some of the first advices given is the opposite of what you are saying, those books advise you to keep your money and to wait until you see the right opportunity in the market.
